Motion carried <br /> BID OPENING ON 2018 ASPHALT—County Highway Superintendent Steve Riehle stated he <br /> reviewed the bids and the bid from JIL Asphalt Paving was $407,957.03 instead of$403,957.00. <br /> The math all checks out and both bids are in order. He would recommend awarding the bid to <br /> Gary Smith Construction for$383,277.60 and authorize the Chair to sign the contract. <br /> Schuppan made a motion and Quandt seconded to award the bid to Gary smith Construction for <br /> $383,277.60 and authorize the chair to sign. DISCUSS &TAKE ACTION AWARDING THE BID FOR INMATE COMMISSARY—Todd <br /> Bahensky stated that the bids were opened March 20. <br /> Smart Communications only provided the software solution and did not bid the commissary part, <br /> Keefe group is the current provider, Summit Food Services and Turnkey Corrections also <br /> submitted bids. They invited each bidder to give a presentation of their products to the support <br /> staff and they also reviewed the accounting portion. He stated that Summit Food Services <br /> offered the best commission, training and technology of any of the other vendors. He would <br /> recommend going with Summit Food Services. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to accept the bid from Summit Food Service <br /> for the inmate commissary. COUNTY CLERK- DISCUSS &APPROVE MANAGERS LICENSE FOR JEREMY D <br /> VINZENZ FOR WOOD RIVER MUNICIPAL GOLF COURSE—this items was tabled pending <br /> the back ground check from the Hall County Sheriff. It was the recommendation to deny the <br /> manager's license. <br /> Schuppan made a motion and Bredthauer seconded to deny the manager's license for Jeremy <br /> Vinzenz for Wood River Municipal Golf Course based on the Sheriff's recommendation. Arnold, <br /> Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none <br /> voted no. Motion carried <br /> 16 APPROVE BI WEEKLY PAY CLAIMS AND REGULAR CLAIMS— Information was provide to <br /> the board members regarding invoices from Merrick County that were dated May 31, 2016 and <br /> April 17, 2017. Clerk Magistrate Jennifer Myers informed them that the claims are to be billed to <br /> the county within 90 days. As per Nebraska State Statute 23-135. <br /> Arnold made a motion and Lanfear seconded to deny the claims from Merrick County dated <br /> May 31, 2016 and April 17, 2017. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson <br /> and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no.
