9:05 a.m. Held a Board of Equalization meeting <br /> 9:35 a.m. Adjourned the Board of Equalization meeting. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION—Chair Richardson called for public participation and no one <br /> responded. <br /> Short video will be shown with Pam Lancaster singing nation anthem <br /> 4 COUNTY ATTORNEY— A) EXECUTIVE SESSION REGARDING PENDING LITIGATION <br /> B) EXECUTIVE SESSION REGARDING PENDING LITIGATION - Schuppan made a motion <br /> and Quandt seconded to go into executive session. There are two reasons for an executive <br /> session to prevent needles harm or injury to an individual or to protect the public interest. <br /> Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and <br /> none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> a) 9:47 a.m. to 9:49 a.m. executive session for a pending litigation <br /> b) 9:49 a.m. to 9:52 a.m. executive session pending litigation <br /> 9:52 a.m. Arnold made a motion and Lancaster seconded to go out of executive session. <br /> Richardson stated that no other subjects were discussed, no votes were taken and no action <br /> was taken. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted <br /> yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> Arnold made a motion and Quandt seconded to request that NIRMA represent Hall County in <br /> the case of Mumin vs, Hall County, Hall County Clerk of the District Court and Corrections <br /> Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and <br /> none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 10. DISCUSS & TAKE ACTION CONCERNING THE UPDATE TO THE 2018 COMMITTEE <br /> ASSIGNMENTS— Richardson stated that this item is from two week ago and discussion was <br /> held to form a legislative committee regarding the exemptions for Crane Trust. Steve <br /> Schuppan, Gary Quandt and Jane will serve on this committee. There were a few other <br /> corrections made. <br /> Arnold made a motion and Quandt seconded to approve the revised 2018 committee <br /> assignments. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all <br /> voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> COMMITTEE OR BOARD MEMBER'S REPORTS —Lanfear stated that the executive <br /> committee for drug court met and financially they are doing well paying their dues. There will be <br /> another graduation and now they have an 87% success rate. <br /> Lancaster reported that the NACO National Association is considering a way the federal <br /> government can assist with the cost of veteran's service officer. The local veteran's service <br /> officers are the ones that generate the paperwork for the benefits and they have a high success <br /> rate. This would bring in dollars to the counties. She also noted that 85% of the states now <br /> have the veteran's designation on the driver's licenses. <br /> 5.10:00 A.M.
