Mr. Riehle stated that this is for the elected surveyor <br /> and GIS director. He prepared a memo and the job description for the board members. Jack <br /> Zitterkopf, Bailey Gibson and Marla Conley reviewed the description. He noted that this is on a <br /> partisan ballot and the surveyor is elected. He will work with his office and Wayne Gleason and <br /> also work with Steve with the auto cad for the construction projects. He will also be part of the <br /> GIS committee. Mr. Riehle stated that GIS works with the Terra Scan program and they would <br /> like to be part of the discussion to update software. County Surveyor Casey Sherlock left <br /> December 31, 2017. <br /> Mr. Riehle reviewed the job description and noted the abilities requirements. There is a <br /> minimum of 4 years' experience as a licensed land surveyor, they need to have an <br /> understanding of concepts and applications of GIS, ability to use AutoCAD, and understand the <br /> operation needs of a county surveyor. The surveyor would be required to reside in Hall County <br /> once elected by January 2019. The way the state statue is written the county surveyor does not <br /> have a deputy. He suggested advertising January 26, February 3 and February 11. The <br /> interviews would be held on the February 20`h meeting. If an applicant is selected from the <br /> interviews he would have to file before he was appointed by the board. If he is appointed he <br /> would become an incumbent. Mr. Riehle made a recommendation to accept the job description <br /> and advertise for the position. Schuppan thanked Steve for his work on this job description. <br /> Schuppan made a motion and Lancaster seconded to approve the job description for the county <br /> surveyor.
