They have <br /> contacted the state senators and they have been helping. Someone needs to be accountable. <br /> Lancaster stated that she does not have any comments there is a lot that needs to be <br /> addressed. <br /> Lancaster reported that Valorie Bendixen had some concerns regarding the passport office. <br /> This is not a statutory requirement but with the history it was decided to keep it open as long as <br /> the fees that were received covered the cost of operation. There is only one person that works <br /> there and there have been concern that it is closed for vacation etc. We are public service and <br /> people may not be happy when it is temporarily closed but there is no additional staff to train. <br /> There is no action required. <br /> Arnold explained that there was a motion made to postpone the action regarding the Senior <br /> Center meals but there were findings regarding the Older Americans Act and how things were <br /> run and some were not done according to the guidelines. There was communication with the <br /> state and they stated that if you receive federal funding you have to follow the rules. They did <br /> not want to take the risk of losing more money and shut off the other counties. He understands <br /> the director's position. <br /> Lancaster stated they will respond and the will have more information and they will do whatever <br /> they need to do to make sure elderly people are served. <br /> Quandt expressed concern that the meals on wheels program should have not been stopped <br /> and he stated he did not understand how this could happen and it needs to be fixed. <br /> Lanfear stated that this was not a lack of compassion no one wanted this but it was forced onto <br /> them. They voted to protect the rest of their counties. <br /> Bredthauer stated she had a safety committee meeting and there were concerns expressed <br /> from the employees at the Courthouse regarding what they should do in the case of an <br /> emergency. There is an emergency action plan and Sheriff Watson did a survey of every office. <br /> They questioned what to do in the case of a fire. <br /> Chairman Richardson called for other reports and no one responded. <br /> 15. EXECUTIVE SESSION — PERFORMANCE EVALUATION - Lancaster made a motion and <br /> Quandt seconded to go into executive session. This executive session is to prevent needless <br /> harm or injury to an individual. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt Richardson and <br /> Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 11:33 a.m. Executive session <br /> 11:36 a.m. Lanfear made a motion and Karen seconded to go out of executive session.
