Motion carried. <br /> 9 FACILITIES - Richardson <br /> B) DAN PLACZEK DONATION OF STATUE TO BE PLACED AT COURTHOUSE Ms. <br /> Richardson stated Mr. Placzek has spearheaded this project to purchase this statute and he <br /> provided copies of the statute and pictures of the proposed location for the statute. He stated <br /> he contacted attorneys in Grand Island requesting contributions for this project. The total cost is <br /> $39,000.00 and they are at $34,000.00 and they want to order the statue. He included pictures <br /> of the statue and proposed locations in front of the Courthouse. He has talked to Mr. Humphrey <br /> and to Doug Lanfear about the location and also about the placement of the plaque. He is <br /> requesting permission to install the statue and the plaque. He will work with Mr. Humphrey and <br /> the committee for the placement. He has also contacted the gallery for their input regarding <br /> this. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Lanfear seconded to allow the placement of the statue at the <br /> Courthouse. <br /> Lancaster requested that he come back to the county board with the location. Mr. Placzek <br /> stated that the bench is include and is made of concrete. Richardson noted that Mr. Placzek is <br /> very humble and he has worked hard on this project. <br /> Lanfear questioned when it will arrive and Mr. Placzek stated it will be after the first of the year. <br /> Discussion was held and Mr. Placzek stated he will wait until he has everything ready to come <br /> back to the board regarding the location. <br /> Arnold suggested looking at a dedication date on George Washington's birthday. Jane noted <br /> that facilities will stay in touch. <br /> Vote on the motion to approve the placement of the statue was taken. Arnold, Bredthauer, <br /> Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> 9:20 a.m. Held a Board of Equalization meeting <br /> 9:24 a.m. Adjourned the Board of Equalization meeting and returned to regular session <br /> 2 <br />
