Quandt made a motion and Richardson seconded to approve the snow removal contract with <br /> the City of Grand Island. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson and <br /> Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> Lancaster stated this is the way it is supposed to work, all people pay taxes. <br /> The vote on the motion to approve the agreement was taken. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, <br /> Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 6. DISCUSS AND TAKE ACTION ON RESOLUTION APPROVING HALL COUNTY HAZARD <br /> MITIGATION PLAN - Jon Rosenlund was present and stated that the county plan had expired <br /> and it needed to be renewed. It took a while and it is a broad plan and is for 5 years. They <br /> worked with Central Platte NRD for the flood mitigation. We have the Wood River and Prairie <br /> Creek Flood control projects. This would enable the county to be eligible for FEMA grants. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Lanfear seconded to adopt Resolution#17-057 approving the <br /> County Hazard Mitigation Plan. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson <br /> and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> Hall County <br /> RESOLUTION NUMBER 1 1—051 <br /> WHEREAS, the Federal Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 was signed in to law on October 30, <br /> 2000, placing new emphasis on state and local mitigation planning for natural ha7irds and requiring <br /> communities to adopt a hazard mitigation action plan to be eligible for pre-disaster and post-disaster federal <br /> funding for mitigation purposes;and <br /> WHEREAS, a Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan was prepared by the Central Platte <br /> Natural Resources District, with assistance from JEO Consulting Group, Inc. of Lincoln, NE, which <br /> includes Hall County. <br /> WHEREAS,the purpose of the mitigation plan was to lessen the effects of disasters by increasing <br /> the disaster resistance of the Natural Resources District and participating jurisdictions located within the <br /> planning boundary by identifying the hazards that affect Hall County and prioritize mitigation strategies to <br /> reduce potential loss of life and property damage from those hazards,and <br /> WHEREAS,FEMA regulations require documentation that the plan has been formally adopted by <br /> the governing body of Hall County in the form of a resolution and further requesting approval of the plan <br /> at the Federal Level; and <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,the governing body of Hall County does herewith adopt the Central Platte <br /> Natural Resources District Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan Update in its entirety;and <br /> PASSED AND APPROVED this day o(2q/,2017. <br /> .�1►T_11��Ir ! 4P/ <br /> President of Bo.:'' <br /> ATTEST: <br /> II / , <br /> Coun Clerk <br />
