BIDS DUE BY
OCTOBER 30, 2017 BY 5:00 P.M. - Mr. Humphrey provided a copy of the specifications.
Discussion was held and noted that he included washing the whole building to clean it up and
then it would all match.
Bredthauer noted that because the fact that it is a historical building it should all be the same.
and it would be better if it is done this way. They would also put a sealer on the brick to help
keep it clean. It is historically good to preserve it. It is up to the board the scaffolding would be
in place so it could all be done. The cost to do it all would be about $100,000.00 just to do the
steps would be half of that number.
Quandt stated it would be better to have the information ahead of time.
Richardson stated it makes sense to the rest of the building it seems whatever is selected is
wrong.
Mr. Zitterkopf suggested bidding it separately.
Schuppan stated the board can reject all bids or make an alternate and price it separately. It
would be good to do it at the same time and not have to set up twice. They will bring this back
in 2 weeks.
11 D) DISCUSSION ON THE INSTALLATION OF A WATER COOLER FOR VETERANS
SERVICE OFFICE - Mr. Humphrey provided a copy of the estimate for a water cooler for the
labor material and equipment. He stated that there was a water cooler there when they moved
into the building but they asked to have it removed. He is proposing to put it in the same place
but they would have to move an ADA button. They did discuss a cheaper system or renting a
system from Culligan with the hot and cold water. They would have to buy the bottles at $8.00
apiece and there would be a delivery charge of$4.00. He noted that each department is to pay
for this.
Schuppan stated that his daughter installed one of these and question if there are other
alternative systems out there.
3
