9:05 a.m. Held a Board of Equalization meeting <br /> 9:10 a.m. Adjourned the Board of Equalization meeting and returned to the regular meeting. <br /> 3. INTRODUCTION OF JEN MYERS COUNTY COURT CLERK MAGISTRATE — <br /> Jen Myers was appointed as the Hall County Clerk Magistrate. She was formally the Merrick <br /> County Zoning Administrator. She also had previous experience in criminal justice. Mr. <br /> Zitterkopf welcomed her to Hall County and noted their offices will be working together. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION —Chairman Lancaster called for public participation and no one <br /> responded. <br /> COUNTY ATTORNEY no items <br /> 11a) SET THE BID OPENING FOR NOVEMBER 14, 2017 AT 9:30 A.M. BIDS TO BE <br /> RECEIVED BY NOVEMBER 13, 2017 FOR THE REMOVAL & DISPOSAL OF TWO (2) <br /> EXISTING BOILERS AND THE INSTALLATION OF TWO (2) NEW BOILERS IN THE HALL <br /> COUNTY ATTORNEY BUILDING LOCATED AT 121 SOUTH LOCUST Quandt asked about the <br /> committee meeting minutes and if they could receive them sooner for review. Mr. Humphrey <br /> stated they could. He noted that the new boilers do not last as long and the condition of the <br /> boilers was discussed a year ago. They need to be replaced about every 10 years, which is <br /> about how long they last. <br /> Quandt asked if there is money in the budget and there is. He also questioned if there was <br /> discussion to move the county attorney's office to the annex building it was the intent to only <br /> move child support offices. <br /> Mr. Zitterkopf stated that he has no intention to moving the county attorney. Moving the child <br /> support offices was to gain space in the attorney's building. <br /> Quandt expressed concern spending money on the Attorney Building if they intend to move. <br /> Jack stated this building works well and he does not see that coming in the future. <br /> Mr. Humphrey stated that the new boilers will be the same size and have to meet the minimum <br /> specifications. Quandt asked if the maintenance would be the same. <br /> Lanfear stated that as far as the County Attorney moving that would be up to the board there is <br /> an immediate need for the boilers and they would have to be fixed even if the building was sold. <br /> Quandt questioned if they were bad why they not changed and Loran stated they waited until <br /> after the budget was done. They will be installed before it gets too cold. <br /> Lancaster noted that this has to be done. <br /> Lanfear made a motion and Arnold seconded to set the bid opening for November 14, 2017 at <br /> 9:30 a.m. with bids due November 13, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. Quandt ask if there was any asbestos <br /> and Loran stated here was not. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson <br /> and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 2 <br />
