DISCUSS AND TAKE ACTION ON RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING SALARIES FOR <br /> CERTAIN ELECTED COUNTY OFFICIALS - Lancaster stated that the audit committee met and <br /> reviewed the information regarding the salary resolution. When the salary study was done the <br /> salaries for the elected officials were also addressed. They could not make any changes but <br /> when the salary for the Assessor Register of Deeds had to be set it was discussed to address <br /> the resolution for the elected officials by October 1, 2017. Stacey stated they followed the exact <br /> same procedure that was followed for the employees they took the salary study and used the <br /> midpoint for the MSA and added 2% for the subsequent years to get to the current salary. <br /> There is no difference for hourly or elected officials on the process that was used. The only <br /> adjustments were the County Treasurer was adjusted up and the county supervisors were not <br /> included in the salary survey. There was an issue with the County Surveyor and the Highway <br /> Superintendent. They did go back and address this and Mr. Essman gave numbers for the <br /> highway superintendent and that was changed by a resolution that the board approved <br /> appointing a highway superintendent so there was only a minor increase for that position in this <br /> resolution. <br /> The NACO salary survey suggested that County Supervisors could be paid 50% of the lowest <br /> elected officials salary and there are some supervisors that are paid more and some are paid <br /> 5 <br />
