Lanfear made a motion and Richardson seconded approve the purchase of the furniture from <br /> Eakes and authorize the chair to sign. Shirley Schultz can make a decision on the furniture and <br /> make a recommendation. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson, and <br /> Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> C) UPDATE CONCERNING CLEANING COMPANY— Richardson stated that they have had <br /> higher than normal complaints on the cleaning company. The committee has met with them <br /> and now with adding 6000 more square feet to the janitorial services. There are definite <br /> concerns about the lack of quality cleaning. Loran stated that they can give 30 days' notice and <br /> re bid the contract. The current contract will end next year. <br /> Mr. Zitterkopf stated there is not a concern about the cleaning at the county attorney building <br /> because the normal person has not been there and there has been a substitute. <br /> Loran stated that there have been issues. They send the complaints to the owners and then <br /> they respond but there are issues at the Courthouse and the Administration Building. <br /> Quandt suggested giving the 30 day notice and going out for bids. <br /> Richardson stated they wanted to update the board there seems to be constant issues. <br /> Lanfear stated that they keep trying and Loran contacts them but it is time to move forward. <br /> Stacey noted they need to give the 30 day notice before they go out for bids. Discussion was <br /> held and the committee will come back in 2 weeks with a way to proceed. <br /> F) DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON REQUEST FROM TENANT AT THE PLAZA <br /> BUILDING FOR EARLY TERMINATION OF LEASE—the board received a letter from the <br /> tenant at the Plaza Building with special requests regarding the termination of the lease. <br /> Mr. Zitterkopf stated that as far as he is concerned we do not have to let him out early. We did <br /> do that for Dr. Denton. He is requesting to waive the rent for August and September but until he <br /> is gone we cannot use the space. Jack recommended that he pays the rent until he is out in <br /> September. Jack also expressed concern on the language in the letter and the issue with <br /> probation. This is the first time they heard about any issues. <br /> Richardson made a motion and Lanfear seconded to terminate the lease with Dr. Meidlinger <br /> and he will continue to pay the rent. <br /> Discussion was held on the September 6, 2017 date and Arnold suggested prorating the rent. <br /> Quandt questioned if this would affect the budget regarding the income. Stacey stated we will <br /> not have to pay taxes on that portion of the building if it is not rented. <br /> Richardson amended her motion and Lanfear seconded to allow Mr. Meidlinger to terminate his <br /> lease early and pay for the entire month of August and pay for any addition days he is there in <br /> September. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson, and Schuppan all <br /> voted yes and none voted no.
