Arnold ask Casey Sherlock if there is a better place for this development and he stated there
may be comparable places but this is a good place. There are no driveways on 1 R Road only
on Webb Road there are 2 that already exist. We need more of these subdivisions in Hall
County.
Schuppan questioned Casey if he knew of water problems. Casey noted that in May 2005
Prairie Creek was out of its banks but that is why NRD is doing the Prairie Creek project. The
zero fill will not affect the adjacent property. Quandt noted that you cannot change the direction
of the water flow.
Lancaster noted she is aware of the water issues she lived in the Capital Heights area. The
thought of a new housing project is exciting, she appreciated the information.
Lanfear noted this is out in the country he is 50/50 but this type of development and growth is
beneficial it is a positive.
Richardson thanked them for coming this is a difficult decision she looked at the property and
stated she had a lot of calls.
Vote on the motion to approve Resolution #17-044. The carpet is almost finished most of the ceiling tile is in and
they did put in some new wiring. The tile in the bathrooms is done. They are putting down the
base and the doors should be in the first of next week. Loran stated that they had to change
some of the wiring; the inspector stated that the wiring was not rated correctly. It was supposed
to be a specific type and the electricians missed it but it has been changed.
b) DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION CONCERNING THE EAKES FURNITURE
PURCHASE FOR THE FEDERAL BUILDING —the proposal for the furnishing is off of a state
bid from Eakes. It is the same type of furniture as the public defender. They needed more
furniture because they are going from cubicles to offices.
8
