12. DISCUSSION REGARDING LETTER FROM FOP LODGE #10 DEMANDING <br /> NEGOTIATIONS — Lanfear stated that he feels uncomfortable discussing this in open session. <br /> Lanfear Made a motion and Quandt seconded to go into executive session regarding the letter <br /> form FOP Lodge#10 demanding negotiations. <br /> Schuppan stated that the board needs to be aware of the letter and they can go into executive <br /> session. <br /> Lancaster stated this executive session is to prevent needless harm or injury to an individual <br /> and to protect the public interest. Chris Rea, Greg Ahlers and Sheriff Watson will be included in <br /> the executive session. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson and <br /> Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 10:32 a.m. executive session <br /> Held a 5 minute break <br /> 11:00 a.m. Arnold made a motion and Richardson seconded to go out of executive session. <br /> Lancaster stated that no other subjects were discussed no votes were taken and no action was <br /> taken Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted <br /> yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> This letter will be referred to the chair of the negotiations committee Steve Schuppan. <br /> 9 UPDATE FROM SHARON HUEFTLE WITH SOUTH CENTRAL ECONOMIC <br /> DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT - Sharon Hueftle, Executive Director for South Central Economic <br /> Development District distributed information to the board member. She stated that they are <br /> adding a deputy director. She noted they assist communities with needs assessments, grant <br /> writing, housing, nuisance abatement programs and offer services to businesses. They have <br /> been helping in Wood River to assist 9 home owners to renovate their homes and there was <br /> also a location that will be demolished. They assisted Cairo to put together a plan and apply for <br /> a grant. The Aida Clerk attended a workshop that they held and they have worked with a <br /> couple businesses that were interested in loan funds. They also formed a group to sponsor <br /> some different pilot housing projects. They are hoping to secure some funding to do individual <br /> development plans. <br /> Chairman Lancaster called for questions and no one responded. She thanked Sharon for <br /> attending. <br /> 11:00 a.m. Held a board of Corrections meeting <br /> 11:35 a.m. Adjourned the Board of Corrections meeting <br /> 11 HEALTH INSURANCE RENEWAL— DISCUSSION AND APPROVAL OF THE <br /> RECOMMENDED BID FOR RENEWAL- Matt Wullenwaber with Mid-American Benefits was <br /> present regarding the insurance renewal. The thanked the board for the long term business <br /> with Mid-American. He has met with the insurance committee and the audit committee and this <br /> renewal has been challenging. <br />
