9:05 Held a Board of Equalization meeting <br /> 9:18 a.m. Adjourned the Board of Equalization meeting and returned to the regular meeting <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION —Chairman Lancaster called for public participation and no one <br /> responded. <br /> 6a) FACILITIES - DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION ON LOCATION OF DONATED PRINTS <br /> FROM HOWARD TRACY AT THE COURTHOUSE - Richardson stated that the facilities <br /> committee met and discussed the placement of the framed prints. They looked at the <br /> Courthouse and recommended the best place would be along the stairwell and they would be in <br /> sequence. <br /> Richardson made a motion and Lanfear seconded to place the prints in the Courthouse in the <br /> stairwell. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted <br /> yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 7. COUNTY ATTORNEY— DISCUSSION &ACTION ON THE AMBULANCE INTERLOCAL <br /> PROPOSAL OF THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND—County Attorney Jack Zitterkopf stated that <br /> the City approached the County regarding the renewal of the ambulance contract. There is <br /> plenty of time to address this it is effective July 1 to June 30, 2019. It is a two year agreement. <br /> The previous dollar amount was $196,200.00 and now there is a 3 '/z% increase in the operating <br /> expenses. Stacey noted that it is a 5% increase overall. <br /> Lancaster stated that the committee agreed that this is reasonable. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Richardson seconded to renew the ambulance agreement. Arnold, <br /> Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none <br /> voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 14. DISCUSSION REGARDING STATE OF NEBRASKA WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT - <br /> Lancaster stated that she is on the Workforce Development Board and discussion was held with <br /> the Deputy Commissioner of Labor. There is currently a one stop shop in Grand Island and it <br /> covers a number of counties. Randy Kissinger is currently in charge and there is new legislation <br /> that that will create two separate parts and they will need to have a place to house it. They put <br /> out an RFP and had some inquiries but did not receive any proposals. The labor commission is <br /> asking if Hall County would be willing to receive the funds and then they would look for <br /> someone to contract with. Then they would not have to put out another proposal. She stated <br /> there needs to be more definite information. She just received this information on Friday and <br /> they will work through it and come back with more information. <br /> 15 DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING GRAND ISLAND PUBLIC SCHOOLS <br /> ENTREPRENEUR BUSINESS INCUBATOR SPACE - Grand Island Public schools wants to <br /> develop business partnerships and giving high school students a step ahead. They are asking if <br /> there might be space in the federal building to place this program. Lancaster stated they need <br /> to know by May 30, 2017 and this would be a long term commitment. <br /> Arnold expressed concern that this is to be used for the county attorney and it would not be <br /> contusive to have student in the building. Lancaster stated that this would not be consistent <br /> with the facilities study. <br /> 3 <br />
