Jerry stated that the county ty needs to have a topographical map of the area so they would be
aware of all the connections that are underground.
Arnold also noted that there was discussion to close Pine Street and Jerry stated he hoped that
could be done.
Lancaster noted that there has been a lot discussed and this would have to be a bond issue.
This is a long term process. She also questioned if Building & Grounds or the County Attorney
could provide some information on the contract with HHS and the amount of space that they are
to have. She expressed concern if they are moved if that changes the space issue. Discussion
was held on a proposed plan to move HHS to the Federal Building.
Schuppan stated that it was discussed but there was nothing done they only ask if the space in
the federal building would be adequate. Mr. Humphrey talked to the state but it did not go
anywhere. No one has committed to this plan.
Mr. Berggren stated that that plan predates the facilities study that he did.
Lanfear stated he likes the plan and there are a lot of things that will need to be worked out. He
ask about the sally port and the current tunnel. Mr. Berggren stated that the sally port and the
tunnel are assets.
Mr. Berggren asked if they thought about putting the unused furniture on the street. Lanfear
stated he and Steve are trying to get rid of the stuff.
Richardson thanked Mr. Berggren and Mr. Webb for coming. She stated she like the priorities
list and this is a good guide line. This is a 10 to 20 year plan and that is what they are looking
for.
Arnold stated that he like the plan but has concern spending money on the storage building.
We need to look at the lots across the street and put up a new building. He will need convincing
to move HHS to the storage building. We need to get rid of the extra stuff.
Mr. Webb stated that the facilities building could be bigger. He also noted that the old jail could
be torn down but they need to address what is stored in there it has to go somewhere. He also
recommended to look at a topographical survey on the lay of the land, the utilities, right of way
and the easements this needs to be done right away.
Lancaster stated that the survey is a good suggestion and noted there were issues with Senior
Citizens on some of the same issues. She stated she appreciates bringing new considerations
to the buildings.
Mr. Berggren stated that the county provided all of the information it just needed organized.
Held a short break
10:33 A.M.
