SET BID OPENING FOR THE CORRECTIONS DEPARTMENT UNINTERRUPTABLE <br /> POWER SUPPLY UNITS (UPS) FOR JANUARY 10, 2017 AT 10:15 A.M. BIDS DUE JANUARY <br /> 9, 2017 AT 5:00 P.M. — Discussion was held on the date that the bids were to be due. County <br /> Clerk Marla stated that she historically has them due on Monday prior to the board meeting at <br /> 5:00 p.m. Mr. Bahensky was present and stated that that date was fine with him. <br /> Lancaster made a motion and Richardson seconded to set the bid opening for January 10, 2017 <br /> with bids due January 9, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. Arnold, Lancaster, Lanfear, Purdy, Quandt, <br /> Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 10:30 A.M. Held a Board of Corrections meeting <br /> 10:50 a.m. Adjourned the Board of Corrections meeting and returned to the regular meeting. <br /> 11. EXECUTIVE SESSION — UNION NEGOTIATIONS - Lancaster made a motion and Purdy <br /> seconded to into executive session for union negotiations. There are 2 reasons for an executive <br /> session to prevent needless harm or injury to an individual or to protect the public interest. This <br /> is to protect the public interest. Arnold, Lancaster, Lanfear, Purdy, Quandt, Richardson and <br /> Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 10:50 a.m. executive session <br /> 11:02 a.m. Lancaster made a motion and Lanfear seconded to go out of executive session. <br /> Arnold stated that no other subjects were discussed, no votes were taken and no action was <br /> taken. Arnold, Lancaster, Lanfear, Purdy, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and <br /> none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 13. DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING PURCHASE OF FEDERAL BUILDING <br /> SIGN —Ms. Richardson distributed information to the board members. She stated that they <br /> drove around and looked at various signs and did get a bid from Quality Signs and they have a <br /> bid from Mayhew Signs. It will be the 30 x 40 inches and they suggested putting it at 72 inches <br /> high. It will be out of aluminum and the estimated cost would be $1,890.00. The preferred sign <br /> is the one from Mayhew Signs. <br /> Richardson made a motion and Lancaster seconded to approve the purchase of the sign for the <br /> Federal Building from Mayhew Signs for $1,890.00. Arnold, Lancaster, Lanfear, Purdy, Quandt, <br /> Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> Arnold expressed concern that the placement of the sign is past due and questioned if it is going <br /> to take too long if there should be a temporary sign put up. Richardson stated she will check to <br /> see how long it will take to have the sign made. <br /> Lancaster expressed concern that mowers and weed trimmers are hard on the signs and <br /> questioned if an area could be cleared around the sign. Discussion was held and it was <br /> suggested to mount the poles in concrete and make a small pad around them. Building and <br /> Grounds will work with the sign company when it is to be installed to place the concrete for the <br /> poles for the sign. <br /> 4 <br />
