9:05 a.m. Held a Board of Equalization meeting. <br /> 10:02 a.m. Adjourned the Board of Equalization meeting and returned to the regular meeting. <br /> 7. 10:00 A.M. — BID OPENING —TRACTORS FOR PUBLIC WORKS <br /> The following bids were received as per attached bid tab sheet. <br /> Casey Sherlock requested that the board accept all bids and refer them to the public works <br /> Y q p <br /> committee for review and he will come back with a recommendation in two weeks. Arnold, <br /> Lancaster, Lanfear, Purdy, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> 8. 10:15 AM — BID OPENING — BRIDGE MATERIALS FOR PROJECT C40(388) <br /> The following bids were received. <br /> BID SECTION A BID SECTIONS B & C <br /> BIDDER CONCRETE PILING <br /> HUSKER STEEL $94,880.00 $65,700.00 <br /> MIDWEST SERVICE & SALES $86,321.52 $36,402.92 <br /> Casey Sherlock stated he will review the bids and come back today with a recommendation. He <br /> stated that they budgeted $190,000.00 <br /> Purdy made a motion and Richardson seconded to refer the bids to the public works committee <br /> and director to review. Arnold, Lancaster, Lanfear, Purdy, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan <br /> all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION —Chairman Arnold called for public participation and no one <br /> responded. <br /> 5. COUNTY ATTORNEY - DISCUSSION &ACTION ON REQUESTING BIDS ON THE <br /> COUNTY'S SOUTH LOCUST FARM LEASE —County Attorney Jack Zitterkopf stated that the <br /> lease with Travis Rainforth expires in February 2017 and this need to go out for bids. He has <br /> used the affidavit of publication to request bids from last year and also has a copy of the written <br /> lease that will be available at the clerk's office for persons interested in submitting bids. <br /> The lease ends under its own terms February 28, 2017 and he would like to write a letter to <br /> Travis Rainforth and encourage him to bid again. <br /> Schuppan stated that he has received some calls regarding the lease. <br /> The proposed bid opening is for January 24, 2017 with bids due Monday January 23, 2017 at <br /> 5:00 p.m. The request for bid would be advertised 3 consecutive weeks December 30, 2016, <br /> January 7, 2017 and January 14, 2017. <br /> Quandt expressed concern on the condition of the land when he returns the property. Mr. <br /> Zitterkopf stated that is addressed in the terms of the lease. <br /> Schuppan made a motion and Lanfear seconded to set the bid opening for January 24, 2017 <br /> with bids due January 23, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. and to advertise as listed.
