Quandt made a motion and Lanfear seconded to refer the bids to the computer committee. Mr. Drudik stated that he has met with all of the bidders and he is prepared to make a decision. They will review and come back with a recommendation. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. 9. 10:15 AM -- BID OPENING — REPLACEMENT OF BATTERIES FOR THREE UNINTERRUPTABLE POWER SUPPLY UNITS AT THE HALL COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS —Quandt made a motion and Richardson seconded to open the bids for the uninterruptable power supply units. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. Mr. Bahensky stated that there are 3 battery units that will provide the gap if they were to lose power. The batteries expire after 3 years and they all need to be replaced. There is money in the equipment improvement reserve fund so he requested bids. In the future he will make a replacement schedule to replace the units. Lancaster stated that the committee discussed this and will work on a replacement plan. Lanfear made a motion and Richardson seconded to accept the bid from Data Power. Lancaster stated that it is best to have more than one bid and Todd stated that he did have other inquiries but they did not submit a bid. Lanfear stated they made every effort to seek other bids but did not and this is the current supplier. Arnold stated that they did due diligence to solicit bids but did not receive any. Mr. Bahensky stated that they are not a sole source provider, He will stagger the replacement of the batteries in the future. The vote on the motion was taken. Arnold, Bredthauer, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. The board took a break to review the bids for the fiber optic internet service. The board returned to session and Mr. Drudik will come back with a recommendation. 7. AUDIT COMMITTEE—b) PRESENTATION OF HALL COUNTY AUDIT BY PHILLIP ERB WITH MCDERMOTT & MILLER— Phillip Erb with McDermott Miller was present to review the 2016 audit. He thanked the employees for their cooperation during the audit and appreciated the opportunity to work on the audit for Hall County. 7
