Lancaster stated that she would like to look at the federal building they look nice but it is the <br /> county's call regarding what is appropriate for fresh air in the building and an engineer would be <br /> the appropriate person to make the call. <br /> Mr. Humphrey stated that the new system brings in 10% fresh air constantly and they can <br /> control the temperature and it is very comfortable. Discussion was held on the window design. <br /> Schuppan stated the windows are bad and need to be addressed and they need specifications <br /> to bid the process. He also agreed that he likes the windows in the federal building. <br /> Mr. Humphrey stated that Mr. Berggren is out of the hospital but not back to work full time yet. <br /> Arnold stated that Mr. Berggren has experience on preserving old buildings and making them <br /> ascetically correct. <br /> Lancaster suggested contacting the historical society for information. <br /> Schuppan stated that the federal building is a historical building and the committee did not know <br /> what the board wants to do and if they want to move forward. <br /> E) DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION ON VETERAN'S PARK LANDSCAPE/TREE <br /> REPLACEMENT— Mr. Humphrey stated that there is a grant that they could tie in with and the <br /> county could get a landscape architect for a design and then write a grant. The grant is due in <br /> October but they are still working on the road project. They may wait on this. <br /> F) CONSTRUCTION UPDATE - Mr. Humphrey stated that they did a walk through with the <br /> engineer and have a 2 page punch list and the engineer has a 3 page list. These issues all <br /> need to be finished. They are finishing the entry way and will have walk off carpet like in this <br /> building. The door for the restroom is now on, they could not find it but it arrived and the <br /> drinking fountains are working with clean water. <br /> In the county office building they are trying to do some of the remodeling themselves and are <br /> working on the restrooms. He also stated that the third phase of the tax credits has been <br /> approved and there are 2 steps at the department of revenue. <br /> Quandt asked if the handicapped bathroom at the courthouse could be a family bathroom so it <br /> would accommodate more people. Loran stated they have the required number of restrooms. <br /> Stacey reminded the board that there needs to be direction on the carpet there was not a <br /> successful bid or do they go back to the piece meal process to get it done. Discussion was held <br /> and Arnold suggested that Jack work with the committee regarding the county purchasing act. <br /> Jack stated that this is the same as receiving no bid so you could go out in the open market and <br /> buy the carpet but you could pay more. The bid was rejected. <br /> Arnold stated they have a starting point but some may not be able to commit to installation. <br /> Quandt asked if the carpet in Shuda's office is going to be replaced. Loran stated it is delayed <br /> and there is no insurance it is below the deductible. <br /> NEW OR UNFINISHED BUSINESS — Chairman Arnold called for new or unfinished business <br /> and no one responded. <br /> 8 <br />
