22 FACILITIES AGENDA <br /> A) CONSTRUCTION UPDATE COUNTY OFFICE /COURTHOUSE— Mr. Humphrey stated that <br /> the ceilings should be installed by the end of the week. They did have some issues with the air <br /> conditions but are working through them. The bathrooms in the courthouse should be open by <br /> the end of next week. <br /> B) CARPET/STAIR UPDATE — Loran stated that they are building 2 more offices in the pubic <br /> defender area and are waiting on carpet and taking quotes on the restroom area. He stated that <br /> discussion was held to have an executive session to go over the quotes on the carpet to protect <br /> the integrity of the quotes. This will be discussed I two weeks. He stated that the quotes are <br /> under$20,000.00 <br /> C) UPDATE ON MEETING WITH JERRY BERGGREN —Mr. Humphrey stated that they met <br /> with Jerry Berggren on Friday and he left information on how he would move forward with the <br /> proposal. He will be here in 2 weeks with a proposal. The master plan will address all of the <br /> buildings and the Sheriff will be included regarding the security issues. Marvin Webb was also <br /> included in the meeting. <br /> 23. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION FOR CHAIRMAN TO SIGN PANIC BUTTON <br /> WARRANTY AGREEMENT- Mr. Humphrey stated that the panic button system was replaced <br /> last year and this is a warranty for the system and they recommended that the county maintain <br /> the warranty. <br /> Purdy stated that he discussed this with Doug Drudik and he recommended purchasing the <br /> warranty. The cost of the new system was $19,000.00 and the warranty is $1000.00 a year. <br /> Richardson ask what office this system covered and it covers all of the office. The alarm goes <br /> off 3 times to alert a security officer. Quandt stated that this is for the safety of the public and <br /> the employees. <br /> Lancaster also noted that the warranty is expensive. Purdy stated that IT recommended <br /> purchasing the warranty. Mr. Zitterkopf stated that they appreciate the panic buttons and they <br /> use it. <br /> Purdy made a motion and Schuppan seconded to authorize the chair to sign the warranty. <br /> Arnold, Lancaster, Lanfear, Purdy, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none <br /> voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 10:30 a.m. Held a Board of Corrections meeting. <br /> 10:59 a.m. Returned to the Regular meeting. <br /> 10. DISCUSS AND TAKE ACTION ON AGREEMENT BETWEEN HALL COUNTY AND <br /> CENTRAL NEBRASKA HUMANE SOCIETY FOR ANIMAL CONTROL—discussion was held if <br /> the board should hold a public hearing and then address taking action on the agreement. <br /> Lancaster ask if the board wants to hold the public input first and then take action. Discussion <br /> was held. <br /> Lancaster made a motion and Schuppan seconded to take public input regarding the agreement <br /> with the Humane Society for animal control. There were concerns expressed by the public on <br /> 4 <br />
