Arnold, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt Richardson and Schuppan all <br /> voted yes and none voted no. Purdy was absent. Motion carried. <br /> COMMITTEE OR BOARD MEMBER'S REPORTS — Richardson reported that CASA celebrated <br /> their 20th year anniversary with a reception at Balz. <br /> Lancaster reported that she Jane and Stacey participated in a call from DHHS regarding the <br /> direct and indirect costs. The bottom line is that the state is balancing their budget on the <br /> county's back. The county received 47.59% of the direct costs and that will be going away. <br /> Larry Dix with NACO was also included in the conversation and there will be legislation that will <br /> be changed. This refers to the 1983 agreement that addresses the amount of square footage <br /> need for HHS. The county is to provide 5,396 square feet. In the discussion with Larry Dix <br /> there is free space and if they have more than the required amount there should be a lease <br /> agreement. Discussion was held to send a letter to HHS to determine how much space they <br /> need. There was also discussion on the number of employee that they currently have. <br /> Quandt reported that Rob Czaplewski with the libray would like to meet with the board and <br /> move forward with the libray card issue. Schuppan stated that he did have a couple of e mails <br /> and Richardson also stated he had some e mails and phone calls. Discussion was held and a <br /> committee consisting of Gary Quandt, Jane Richardson and Pam Lancaster will address this <br /> issue. Jan will serve as the chair of the committee. <br /> BOARD ASSISTANT—Stacey stated she did not have a report. <br /> 23. FACILITIES AGENDA— <br /> A) CONSTRUCTION UPDATE <br /> Mr. Humphrey stated that the air conditioning in County Court will be finished up this week. He <br /> will bring numbers back on the cost of the carpeting in 2 weeks and also costs on the the and <br /> the costs on the balcony repairs. <br /> Discussion was held on the stair treads. Quandt stated he would like to look at other options for <br /> the stairs instead of the vinyl stair treads. This needs to be addressed because it is an <br /> emergency item. Schuppan agreed that something needs to be done on the stairs. Loran <br /> stated he will look at other options and bring back more information. Arnold also stated he does <br /> not like the stair treads but there needs to be something that will be safe. Lancaster requested <br /> to know what companies have options. <br /> Humphrey reported that they have 2 more offices completed in the county office building for the <br /> public defender so they will be able to start on the restrooms in a couple of weeks. <br /> A) DRINKING FOUNTAIN CHANGE ORDER <br /> This will make a drinking fountain ADA assessable and the total would be $2,355.00 <br /> Schuppan made a motion and Lanfear seconded to approve change order#17 for$2,355.00. <br /> Discussion was held on the fees that are included in the change order total. Arnold, Lancaster, <br /> Lanfear, Quandt Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Purdy was <br /> absent. Motion carried. <br /> 7 <br />
