c) DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON THE FOLLOWING: DRINKING FOUNTAINS IN <br /> COURTHOUSE— Loran questioned what to do with the original drinking fountains. They do not <br /> meet ADA regulations and there would be considerable cost for plumbing and fixtures. It was <br /> discussed to install a drinking fountain that would meet ADA requirements and discontinue the <br /> fountains and the cost would be less. A fountain would be about $2,500.00. Richardson asked <br /> if the drinking fountains were optional. Lancaster stated before making a decision she would <br /> like to have more information and more time to consider this issue. <br /> Quandt asked if the repair of the old fountains was in the bid they need to address it. <br /> Schuppan stated that these are questions that the entire board to needs decide. <br /> Quandt expressed concern on the restroom doors and he would like more information and come <br /> back in two weeks. <br /> Arnold stated he is not willing to get rid of the fountains but they need to address the ADA <br /> issues. This will be discussed again. <br /> d) CLEANING OF INTERIOR OF COURTHOUSE—This was discussed in the committee and <br /> the ceilings are filthy and they would like to clean the entire building once the construction is <br /> done. They have quotes of$4,500.00 and $4,700.00. <br /> e) PAINTING INTERIOR OF COURTHOUSE — <br /> Loran also asked about the aintin of the <br /> p 9 <br /> interior of the Courthouse and he stated he has some quotes for this also. This will be <br /> discussed further. <br /> f) INSIDE STAIR REPAIR— Loran showed videos of people falling on the interior steps of the <br /> Courthouse. Purdy stated that the Safety Committee has asked several times when they are <br /> going to be fixed. Loran showed some samples of stair treads. Discussion was held. He has a <br /> proposal of$11,900.00 that would include the leveling of the stairs and treads. This is outside <br /> of the contract and they are looking for directions. The board would like more information. <br /> Lancaster stated she has no objections to the cleaning and other issues but they need more <br /> information and costs. <br /> G)ASBESTOS TILE REMOVAL FOR THIRD FLOOR LANDING FOR STAIR REPAIR & <br /> BALCONY REPAIR— Loran stated the third floor rotunda has asbestos tile that would need to <br /> be removed and a new floor and new tile installed and he noted several quotes. He will bring <br /> this back at the next meeting. <br /> H) THIRD FLOOR BALCONY FLOOR REPAIR—He stated that the balcony floor needs to be <br /> repaired. Schuppan stated that there may be a wood floor under the tile. The committee wants <br /> to know how far they should go with these repairs. He also stated that the outside steps into the <br /> Courthouse are leaking into the building and need repaired. Quandt asked if there were other <br /> options and asked what they did in the federal building about the stair and they were removed <br /> and replaced. Loran stated <br /> Lancaster stated that the board needs some numbers this is a historical building. In two weeks <br /> Mr. Berggren will be here so maybe it can be addressed. <br /> Schuppan stated the committee needs some direction and the issue with the steps keeps <br /> coming up what the board saw on the video of the steps it is a big issue. <br /> 9 <br />
