The county
currently pays half of the operations would we also have to pay half of the lease. He also
questioned if this could be a bond issue and Lanfear stated Mr. Ferguson is looking at this.
Lancaster also agreed something needs to be done but the county should have some input. We
need to know where the dollars are going. Lanfear agreed the entire board should be involved.
He also stated there was discussion about adding a multipurpose
room. There is also a cellphone tax that could help pay for the bond.
Quandt stated that the Memorial Day service was very nice.
6 SANDI STEVENS MIDLAND AREA AGENCY ON AGING BUDGET INFORMATION — Sandi
Stevens executive director distributed information to the board members and thanked Pam and
Dan for serving on their board. The share for
Hall County to support the senior center is $19,125.00. She also reviewed the other funding
sources and also stated they receive client contributions that help support the budget.
Lancaster added that funding also goes the Doniphan, Cairo and the Wood River Senior
Centers. The meals on wheels also provides a contact for the people who receive them. She
stated Theresa does a great job and the exercise room is popular.
Quandt noted that people who use these programs still feel independent.
Lanfear also noted that the person delivering the meals is also important they are dedicated
volunteers.
2
