Arnold, Lancaster, Lanfear, Purdy, Quandt, Richardson and <br /> Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 10. DISCUSS AND APPROVE RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING MAY 1-7, 2016 TO BE HALL <br /> COUNTY TOURISM WEEK - County Clerk Marla Conley read Resolution#16-033 proclaiming <br /> May 1 — 17, 2016 to be Hall County Tourism Week. <br /> Brad Mellema stated that his staff members, Liz Gerberding, Paul Nielsen and Diane Willey <br /> Board Chair were here but had to leave and also Trish Beem that was unable to be here. He <br /> stated that there is a lot going on and he stated there has been an increase in hotel <br /> occupancies. He also noted the new businesses, new eateries and the new airport terminal is a <br /> welcome mat to the community. He distributed the Vibe to the board members and noted the <br /> map of Fanner Park and the City map. These are distributed to various locations in the <br /> community and will be included in the Grand Island Independent. He also stated that they have <br /> a touch screen way finder in their office. <br /> Lancaster stated that we are fortunate to have Brad and his efforts are amazing. <br /> Arnold noted that he worked at the airport and about 1/3 of the license plates are out of town. <br /> Schuppan also noted how they supported the high school shooting sports <br /> Called for a short break 10:30 a.m. <br /> 10:33 a.m. Held a board of Corrections meeting <br /> 10:58 a.m. Adjourned the Board of Corrections and returned to the regular meeting. <br /> 22. DISCUSSION ON REGION III BUDGET - Quandt stated that he attended the Region II <br /> meeting in Kearney and he ask Beth and Randy to come. They distributed information to the <br /> board members and reviewed it.
