RESOLUTION #16-029 A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF THE DISCONTINUANCE OF THE TOWNSHIP ORGANIZATION OF HALL COUNTY WHEREAS, the Hall County Board has found that all of its township boards have become inactive by reason of the fact that two or more township board positions have been vacant in each township and the Hall County Board has been unable to fill such positions in accordance with NEB.REV.STAT. §32-567 for six or more months; and WHEREAS, on February 23, 2016, the Hall County Board of Supervisors, having published lawful notice thereof, held public hearings on the issue of the termination of each of its township boards; and WHEREAS, no resident of any of the Hall County townships, within 30 days of the aforementioned public hearings, provided written notice to the Hall County Board that he or she would serve on a township board; and WHEREAS, on April 5, 2016, the Hall County Board declared each of its fourteen (14) township boards terminated. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Hall County Board hereby supports the discontinuance of the township organization of Hall County; that the Hall County Board hereby supports the creation of a seven-member Hall County Board of Commissioners; that this resolution be filed with the Hall County Election Commissioner; and that the foregoing question be submitted to the voters of Hall County in the form as set out in Exhibit A attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof.
