Mr. Humphrey stated he received the following proposals for the painting removal of the wall <br /> paper and repairing the walls. He received the following proposals. <br /> Mid Plains Construction $18,780.00 <br /> Joe Sutliff Painting $20,190.00 <br /> Shada Construction $12,000.00 <br /> Lancaster made a motion and Schuppan seconded to award the contract for painting, removal <br /> of the wall paper and repairing the walls to Shada Construction. Arnold, Lancaster, Lanfear, <br /> Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Purdy was absent. <br /> 23. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING ASBESTOS ABATEMENT AT THE <br /> COURT HOUSE — Mr. Humphrey stated that there is an area where there is asbestos on the <br /> pipes and in the joints that were mudded. In County Court the asbestos was over the hangers <br /> and the pipes so they have to do containment. O'Neil Transportation does this and they <br /> provided a quote. He showed pictures of the area. <br /> Quandt expressed concern that they have to do addendums to address the asbestos. <br /> The proposal for the asbestos abatement is $8,700.00 with O'Neill Transportation. The work <br /> would be done over two weekends. Discussion was held that the bid is over $5,000.00. Mr. <br /> Zitterkopf asked if there are any other companies that do this work. Mr. Humphrey stated he <br /> received the quote last night and he can get another proposal. Discussion was held. <br /> Lancaster made a motion and Lanfear seconded to authorize the building director to get <br /> additional quotes for the asbestos abatement with the total proposal not to exceed $8,700.00. <br /> Arnold, Lancaster, Lanfear, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted <br /> NEW OR UNFINISHED BUSINESS- Lanfear stated that there were some light bulbs that were <br /> replaced at the courthouse that could have some historical value and he asked what should be <br /> done with them. The Historical Society and Stuhr Museum may want some. <br /> Lancaster stated that the value is small enough and if they can do some good to give them to <br /> Stuhr or the Historical Society. <br /> 1:20 p.m. Meeting adjourned.
