Richardson thanked Election Commissioner Dale Baker for bringing this forward, it needs to be <br /> resolved. She questioned if the Legal descriptions would change and Casey Sherlock stated <br /> that the geographical distinctions will not change this is to dissolve the township boards. <br /> County Attorney Jack Zitterkopf noted Nebraska State Statute 23-293 if more than 50% of the <br /> township boards are terminated the county board will file with the election commissioner a <br /> resolution supporting the discontinuance of the township organization of the county. If a <br /> majority of votes cast support the discontinuance of township organization then it will cease to <br /> exist effective at the expiration of the supervisor's terms of office in January of the third calendar <br /> year following the election. <br /> No action is needed today. <br /> 9:35 a.m. Held a Board of Corrections meeing. <br /> 11:05 A.M. Adjourned the Board of Corrections meeting and returned to the regular meeting. <br /> 9 9 <br /> 1 g <br /> 10 DISCUSS AND APPROVE CANDIDATES TO INTERVIEW FOR BUILDING INSPECTOR <br /> POSITION — Lancaster stated that they had a good response and the rural community also <br /> weighed in on the applicants to interview. The board members also submitted names. <br /> Held a 5 minute break for discussion <br /> Discussion was held on how many the board wants to interview and they decided to interview <br /> four. <br /> Alan Pickrel <br /> Angelina Solis <br /> Pete Krolikowski <br /> Tim Rush <br /> Lancaster made a motion and Quandt seconded to interview 4 applicants. Arnold, Lancaster, <br /> Lanfear, Purdy, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> The interviews will be Wednesday March 2, starting at 9:00 a.m. Discussion was held on how <br /> long they should schedule for the interviews and it was decided to allow 30 minutes for each <br /> candidate. <br /> Quandt asked if there was going to be a background check. Discussion was held and they will <br /> get the releases signed for the background checks. The final decision will be made at the <br /> March 8, 2016 meeting. <br /> 11 DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION IN REGARDS TO LEGISLATION —Quandt stated <br /> that in the past the board had discussed how some of the new legislative bills would affect Hall <br /> County and there hasn't been anything on the agenda. He noted the bills addressing ag <br /> ground. <br /> Lancaster stated she would welcome some discussion and noted the bill regarding inheritance <br /> tax. This does not help Nebraska counties and it is important to stay on top of some of the bills. <br /> 7 <br />
