Tracy Overstreet stated that there is an exception to the open meetings act to add items relating <br /> to buildings and roads if they are of an emergency nature, and the Independent would not object <br /> to this $10,000.00 purchase. <br /> Mr. Zitterkopf notated 84-1411 regarding notice of meetings and if the items are not an <br /> emergency nature the agenda can be modified 24 hours before the meeting and the section <br /> does not define emergency item, but it would be unreasonable to hold up a project for 2 weeks. <br /> Schuppan stated that the plaster is falling and the ceiling tiles are cracking. He <br /> stated it would be an emergency if there are people in the rooms and the plaster falls. <br /> Schuppan made a motion and Purdy seconded to add this to the agenda as an emergency item <br /> to discuss and approve repairs to the plaster ceilings at the courthouse. <br /> Arnold, Lancaster, Lanfear, Purdy, Quandt and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. <br /> Richardson was absent. This will need to be scheduled later. <br /> Lancaster asked about the total cost of the renovations for the Plaza Building and the Office <br /> Building renovations; <br /> Plaza Building renovations were $98,705.18 plus the purchase price of$800,000.900 and the <br /> fiber optic was $41,000.00 <br /> The removal of the houses at 115 and 119 South Sycamore was $14,874.75 plus the purchase <br /> price of each house <br /> County Office Building for Juvenile Diversion is $54,504.80 but they do not have all of the bills <br /> they had budgeted $70,000.00 for the project <br /> He stated that so far the change orders for the court house have been $208,000.00 and this <br /> includes Judge Luther's courtroom ceiling.
