, '?~ r" 3Y/7 s- ~COMMUNICATIONS : ~(4) Notice of Annual meeting of theNebraska Tax Research Council Inc to be held Friday, November 13, 1992 in Lincon. Reservations are due by Novem- ber 6, 1992. (5) State of Nebraska Department of Roads in regard to current federal trans- portation act funding for roads and bridges. (6) Notice from Regional Planning Director of final plats for Denman Farm Subdivision and Kuehner Subdivision to be considered at their meeting to be held November 4, 1992 at 7:30 p.m. in City Council Chamber of Grand Island City Hall. (7) Letter from Keith Sinor, Grand Island City Attorney in regard to recent meeting on prosecution of minor offenses and his suggestions. Motion by Frauen, seconded by Quandt to place on file the communications received today. On roll call vote Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Leslie, Quandt, Wright and Landis voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. COMMITTEE REPORTS: Hartman repoJ~ted Mid Nebraska Individual Services meeting tonight. Frauen reported on Health Board meeting attended last Wednesday. Also reminder the election committee to report at 2:30 P.M. next Tuesday, November 3 for early pick up of ballots for Election Commissioner's office. Abernethy reported (1) Red Ribbon SCIP Program participation (2) Cha1her of Commerce retreat which was also attended by Wright (3) Her visit with Nancy Hoch at Nebraska'City recently (4) meeting she attended at Mahoney State Park. Leslie reported he was only one to show up for Safety Committee Meeting. Landis reported on audit committee meeting, still working on plans. Ellen Merrill County Board Assistant reported (1) Mary Kay Shay, Election Commissioner had requested use of County Board room starting today, Oc~.o ''Jer 27th thru November 6th with except of County Board meeting November 3rd. Motion by Quandt, seconded by Frauen to authorize Election Commissioner to use County Board Room on dates she requested. On roll call vote Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Leslie, Quandt, Wright and Landis voted YE.S, none voted no. Motion carried. (1) Ellen reported she will be attending Governor's conference in Lincoln this Thursday and Friday (3) reported on Ron Bo~master response to costs for fiber optics cable for Civil Defense/Communications Department connections with county's network (4) reported on call to NACO office in regard to meal per diem costs. (5) reminder to Landis to report on claim submitted by Road Fund for meals at Dowd's Steakhouse. Motion by Hartman, seconded by Abernethy to approve paYment of claim to Dowd s Steakhouse $~9.08 held from last week's claim audit. On roll call vote Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Leslie, Quandt, Wright and Landis voted yes" none voted no. Motion carried. Discussion on setting date for County Auction. Ellen Merrill to check with Tom Wieck, auctioneer and suggested dates were November 21 or November 22 in afternoon, to report back next week. ,~ .~..... --:...:. MEeting was recessed at 11:55 A.M. To return to regular session at 1:30 p.m. tc meet with Sally Halford, DirE!ctor of Corrections for Lancaster County. Returned to regular sessio1 at 1:30 p.m. with Abernethy, Frauen, Landis, Leslie and Quandt present. Absent were Hartman and Wright. Emmett Arnett Hall County Sheriff was present. Abernethy introduced Sally Halford, who visited with board members about her 24 years in corrections and Lancaster County Director of Corrections for 8 years. She stated Lancaster County has approximately 9000 bonkj ngs at jail in a year compared to Hall County with approximately 3500 bJokings. Chairperson be Tuesday, the meeting at 3:00 J.M. at 9:00 A.M.
