Sh8 requestE'd to be agenda item for next week to set date and time and approval to release the specifications to bidders. Chairman called short recess. Returned to regular session at 10:43 A.M. Public Works Committee & Director recommends accepting the low bid of Barco Municipal Products Inc, Omaha $14,739.20 for the cutting blades. Motion .by Hartman, seconded by Quandt to accept recommendation to accept the low bid of Barco Municipal Products Inc, Omaha, $14,739.20 On roll call vote Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Leslie, Quandt, Wright and Landis voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. Ellie Carrico, Clerk of District Court spoke in regard to the work load in her office and presented written information on number of cases filed in her office 1983-1984 compared to 1991-1992 and the first quarter of 1992-1993. She had 6 people plus herself employed in the office at presnt time. She requested $12,000. to $13,000.00 for a full time position. Motion by Leslie, seconded by Abernethy to authorize C13rk of Di~trict Court to add one full time staff person and to pay from her current budget. On roll call vote Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Leslie, Quandt, Wright ani' Landis vo.:ed yes, none voted no. Motion carried. Randy Klein, Nebraska Corn Growers Association spoke in regard to 1ISE" of ethanol in vehicles. He reviewed a written report for using ethanol in fleet vehicle~ prepared for Hall County. He stated Douglas, Hamilton and York Counties in Nebraska use ethanol in county owned vehicles and strongly encour- aged adopting a resolution to use ethanol in Hall County vehicles. Motion by Hartman, seconded by Abernethy to adopt Resolution #1438 as presented. On roll call vote Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Leslie, Quandt, Wright and Landis voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. RESOLUTION #~.~~ WHEREAS the use of ethanol creates new markets for Nebraska's corn producers; and WHEREAS eth~nol is a fuel that contributes toward cleaner air; and WHEREAS the use of ethanol reduces our nation's dependence on foreign oil imports; and WHEREAS ethanol is made from a domestically-produced, renewable resource; BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED THAT all appropriate fleet vehicles owned and operated by the County of Hall shall from this day forth exclusively use ethanol-blended gasoline, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County of Hall shall from this day forth purchase only ethanol-blended gasoline for all appropriate vehicles.
