Quandt questioned why the board has not been informed about the change orders a copy was <br /> in the packet and Mr. Humphrey asked what he wants done. He will provide updates and keep <br /> communication open and he stated that no one expressed any concerns last week. Lanfear <br /> stated that he will keep everyone informed. <br /> 7. DISCUSS & POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING DISSOLVING CORRECTIONS STEERING <br /> COMMITTEE - Quandt stated there is a board of corrections and they need to be the ones <br /> making the decisions issues were not brought forward and we owe the taxpayers and the <br /> employees stability. He would like to dissolve the steering committee for at least one year. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Lancaster seconded, for discussion, to dissolve the corrections <br /> steering committee for one year. <br /> Lancaster understands entire board needs to be informed it is a major issue she would consider <br /> the director giving a status report each time they meet <br /> Schuppan if problems come up between board meetings it would limit ability to help <br /> Arnold suggested biweekly board of corrections meetings. <br /> Pam withdrew her second and stated they could require a biweekly report and all reports come <br /> to the board the committee cannot take action. <br /> Arnold called for a 2nd no one seconded the motion. Motion failed. <br /> Lancaster made a motion and Lanfear seconded to schedule biweekly board of corrections <br /> meetings and have biweekly updates from the interim director. <br /> Quandt stated Scott has a conflict of interest and asked if he took verbage back to the police <br /> department. Arnold replied that nothing that was not public was disclosed and this is not <br /> appropriate at this time. <br /> Quandt stated we have to do away with this committee Arnold said he would step down. <br /> Schuppan stated that this is out of line and just a personal attack. <br /> Lanfear asked if we abolish the committee what will it improve they need a go to person for <br /> input this is just a cheap shot to Scott. <br /> Arnold stated that he has a job and there is not a conflict of interest a conflict would be if it was <br /> for financial gain or the potential of financial gain he is governed by civil service rules and a <br /> union contract the steering committee is not a conflict of interest. Arnold stated that Gary is not <br /> happy with him and he chooses to make this a personal issue. <br /> The vote on the motion to establish bi weekly board of corrections meetings was taken. <br /> Arnold, Lancaster, Lanfear, Purdy, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan al voted yes and none <br /> voted no.
