Fax message received from Howard Maxon, Communication-Civil Defense Dir- ector of news release from Governor Ben Nelson announcing Nebraska Civil Defence Agency received federal funding for first phase of project to update emergency operations centers throughout the state, of which approx- imately $65,000. for the design phase of first center to be located in Grand Island, to be housed lower level or basement of new City Hall. 6 6. NACO, Executive Director Jack Mills in regard to NIRMA Business meeting and Election to be held at annual NACO Convention 7. Copy of letter from State Bank of Cairo to NACO of notification of certi- ficate of deposit account opened recently. 8. "Copy of notices of Regional Planing Commission meeting October 7, 1992 when final plats will be considered for Amick Acres East Subdivision~ Weavers Subdivision~ Headley Subdivision~ pioneer Ranch Subdivision~ and Kaelin Subdivision. 9. Letter from Deputy County Attorney in regard to claim of Child Development Counsel of Adams County. Motion by Frauen, seconded by Hartman to refuse payment to Child Development Counsel of Adams County. On roll call vote Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Leslie, Quandt, Wright and Landis voted yes,none voted no. Motion carried. Motion by Frauen, seconded by Quandt to place on file the communications received today. On roll call vote Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Leslie, Quandt, Wright and Landis voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. Recessed for Board of Equalization at 9:35 A.M. and returned to regular session at 9:38 A.M. Jan Pelland, County Assessor presented tax correction notices #3126 thru #3153 Motion by Frauen, seconded by Hartman to authorize the tax correction notices #3126 thru #3153. On roll call vote Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Leslie, Quandt, Wright and Landis voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. County Assessor Pelland and Supervisor Quandt reported on the Sheriff vehicles they had been asked to look at. Assessor is using the 1988 Ford with 110,000 miles. Will use for couple weeks to see what works out. Beth Holthusen, Acting Program Administrator for Region III spoke about the EPC program and the past due bills unpaid due to statute. Region III will pay the past due bills over 90 days billing (Ha~l County $14,100.) will request counties to reimburse Region III for payment. EPC Amended le~ter of agreement with Regional III Governing Board was presented. Following discussion, motion by Frauen, seconded by Abernethy to authorize chairman to sign the letter of agreement with Region III. On roll call vote Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Leslie, Quandt, Wright and Landis voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. Supervisor Hartman was excused at 10:10 A.M. to attend the funeral of Robert Wilhelmi, a County Highway Department employee. COMMITTEE REPORTS: Frauen spoke in regard to the inventories and board members reviews. Discussion followed and County Board Assistant to look into inventory of county property and numbering system and meet with Building & Grounds Committee and make a recommendation. Abernethy reported on the inventories she had reviewed. the program at Stuhr Museum on Sunday. Also she attended Leslie reported on Building & Grounds Committee meeting on the odor control in Administration building and cost of $1187.00 for single machine with filter replacements to cost $3.55 each.
