Lanfear stated he is not sure where the acquisitions came from.
Arnold asked Ms. Hultine if she would have a concern if the board issued a directive and she
stated she would not. Ms. Hultine agreed that it is best practice to separate the juveniles and
adults and she feels that they have resolved the issue. She wants to be part of the
communications.
Quandt stated that this is the responsibility of the board to make sure this does not happen.
Quandt made a motion and Lancaster seconded to have the adult drug testing done at the adult
probation office in the Plaza Building and the juveniles at the Office Building. Arnold. Lancaster,
Purdy, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and Lanfear voted no. Motion carried.
Ms. Hultine stated that she could not find anything in state statute that addresses this issue but
it's most certainly best practice.
Lancaster noted that parents could be with the juveniles
Lanfear expressed concern that someone has not come forward with the information it is based
on rumors.
COMMITTEE OR BOARD MEMBER REPORTS- Chairman Arnold called for board members
reports and no one responded.
BOARD ASSISTANT'S REPORT— Stacey stated she does not have a report.
26 FACILITIES AGENDA UPDATE — Loran Humphrey was present and reported on the HVAC
project he distributed a proposed time line for the project. He stated that they held a
preconstruction meeting with the sheriff regarding security at the courthouse and parking issues
and that has been resolved. They also met at the Courthouse with some of the Judges and
staff and discussed a preliminary agenda. They have identified an area where the Judges will
park and there will be signage. They have addressed issues with the Judges calendar and will
start with Judge Young in October and Judge Luther after that.
The roof work will be done during the day because of safety issues. In January they will be on
the middle floor and will take down both restrooms at that time. They will be flexible and try to
get them done in 3 weeks. Then they will move to the bottom floor to do the restrooms. The
Clerk of the District Court offices will be done at night. They hope to have the project completed
by April 2016. All of the tile etc. has been selected so that is ready to go. He also stated that
the Judges discussed the potential of using the board room for court hearings.
Stacey stated that she can work with them and stated that workman compensation court will be
using the board room or committee room 2 days a week already but she will make it work and
they just need to keep in communication with her. They are still working on the scheduling of
the court rooms.
Loran also stated that there will be three electrical shut downs but there will be notices sent out
and Doug Drudik will be covering that. They are scheduled to shut down the air conditioning
October 9.
5
