; 'I~ ;:.. ;2 ~ ~ ...::J WHEREAS, due to the narrow shoulders on county roads in the area of the Husker Harvest Days site it is desirable to prohibit the stopping, standing and ~ parking of vehicles upon certain roads in the vicinity of the Husker Harvest Days site during the period of said event. THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED by the Hall County, Nebraska County Board of Supervisors that commencing September 10, 1992 and continuing until September 21, 1992 the stopping, standing or parking of vehicles upon the following county roadways, their shoulders and right of ways is hereby prohibited, to-wit: 1. On Husker Highway from its intersection with 80th Road to the intersection of Husker Highway and Schauppsville Road a distance of approximately two miles. 2. On 90th Road from its intersection with Husker Highway to the intersection of 90th Road and Scbimmer Drive a distance of approximately one mile. . The Hall County Public Works Department shall erect and maintain liI.uch proper and adequate signs thereon to effectuate this resolution, and to remove the same on or after September 21, 1992. Sheriff estimated seven deputies each day for hours needed to direct traffic. Some Board members felt County should be reimbursed for the hours of overtime for deputies. Motion by Frauen, seconded by Quandt to refer to County Attorney to check the feasibility of charging for deputies overtime. On roll call vote Frauen, Hartman, Quandt, Wright and Landis voted yes, Leslie voted no, with Abernethy absent.. Motion carried. Also discussed was the need to look at permanent buildings at the Husker Harvest Day site being placed on the tax roll. Will question the County Assessor and County Attorney on this matter. Sheriff Arnett requested permission to dispose of three surplus vehicles, 1988 Ford Ford 4 door, 1989 Dodge 4 door and 1989 Dodge 4 door. Discussed whether to place on County Auction or to take sealed bids for the cars. Ellen, County Board Assistant to contact County Attorney I s office about this matter. ... Letter of request was read from Duane Donaldson, Chairman Traffic & Safety Grand Island Chamber of Commerce and the Agricultural Institute of Nebraska co-sponsor of Husker Harvest Days for permission to place directional signs along County Roads prior to show. Motion by Frauen, seconded by Hartman to authorize permission to have the directional siqns placed along County Roads again this year. On roll call vote Frauen, Hartman~ Leslie, Quandt, Wright and Landis voted yes, none voted no~ tAr;t-h 1\hprnethv absent. Motion carried.
