Motion carried. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Recessed for Board of Equalization at 10:12 A.M-and returned to regular session <br />at 10:14 A.M. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS: <br />(4) Notice from Veterans Service Office that the Committee Member from <br />Doniphan American Legion Post expired July 1, 1992 and included three <br />names for County Board members to select from. <br />County Board Assistant to contact all three names listed to have them appear <br />at County Board Meeting next Tuesday for interviews before Board Members make <br />an appointment. <br /> <br />(5) Letter from State of Nebraska Highway Commission stating they had <br />approved on June 29, 1992 and Governor Nelson had approved on June <br />30, 1992 the request to name a portion of US 34 the"Henry Fonda <br />Memorial Highway" the 5.6 miles between Hamilton County Bridge and <br />US 281. and August 15, 1992 be proclaimed as Henry Fonda Day in <br />Nebraska. <br /> <br />(6) State of Nebraska Department of Roads accident r~portoccurring on <br />June 19, 1992 at intersection of Shady Bend Road and Bismark Street. <br /> <br />(7) Copy of letter to Hall County Highway Superintendent Dan Hostler, <br />in regard to Hall County Bridge C004013015 meets the requirements <br />and is eligible for soft match program. <br /> <br />(8) Letter of resignation from Chuck Wanitschke as Clerk of the Center <br />Township Board. <br /> <br />Motion by Frauen, seconded by Quandt to place on file the communications that <br />were received today. On roll call vote Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Leslie, <br />Quandt, Wright and Landis voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br /> <br />Hartman presented letter received from Victor Aufedmberge Architecture in <br />regard to completion of buildings for Weed Control and Building & Grounds. <br />Discussion followed with Quandt objecting to the final payment being made. <br />Motion by Hartman, seconded by Frauen to authorize County Clerk to release <br />the final payment checks when she receives call from Schwartzkopf, that the <br />check list is satisfactory. On roll call vote Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, <br />Leslie, Wright and Landis voted yes, Quandt voted no. Motion carried on 6 <br />yes, 1 no vote. <br /> <br />Hartman reported on conference call conducted by Mid Nebraska Retardation <br />Services Governing Board. <br /> <br />/JcI'i"l)~r CqA?d1,/-1ee.- <br />Abernethy reported on Region III Mental Health -Re':::liuu Iuee:ti~. Also on City <br />councii meeting she attended last night. <br /> <br />Leslie reported he is working on the maintenance agreements and requested a <br />couple more weeks to complete. <br /> <br />Quandt reported he attended the meeting at Northwest High held last week on <br />cooperation for landfills. He also attended City Council meeting last night. <br /> <br />Landis commented on the need to request a share of fees for upkeep on roads <br />to landfill when it becomes a regional landfill. <br /> <br />Wright reported on Safety Committee meeting. <br /> <br />Landis reported on College Park meeting she attended. Also she is resigning <br />from the Family Violence Coalition Committee and Quandt will be County Board <br />representative on the committee. Family Violence Coaliton is still needing <br />contract with Mid Plains Center for their operation to continue. <br /> <br />Ellen Merrill, County Board Assistant reported BTS is starting to ~w the <br />phone lines and need to consider trading in current phone system. John Wagoner <br />had called the Airport meeting are now being on video and County Board might <br />want to consider this also. Rick Stepanek, would like a Building & Grounds <br />Committee meeting today in regard to trimming trees. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br />Motion by Quandt, seconded by Hartman to accept the resignation of Chuck <br />Wanitschke as Center Township Clerk. On roll call vote Abernethy, Frauen, <br />Hartman, Leslie, Quandt, Wright and Landis voted yes, none voted no. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />Chairperson called short recess and then will return to work on County budgets. <br />Recessed at 12:01 P.M. and will return at 1:30 P.M. to continue to work on <br />
