5. CONSIDERATION &ACTION FOR THE CITY/COUNTY GIS INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT - <br /> Mr. Sherlock sated that they have been working on this Interlocal agreement for some time; in <br /> fact the current agreement is expired. The new agreement will provide GIS information to the <br /> public and will also allow the sharing the data and the computer system. The City uses beehive <br /> and the county will also have to pay for some of those fees. This will provide better <br /> communication between City and County. <br /> Schuppan made a motion and Lanfear seconded to approve the Interlocal agreement for GIS <br /> between the City and County. Arnold, Lancaster, Lanfear, Purdy, Quandt, Richardson and <br /> Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 9 MIDLAND AREA AGENCY ON AGING SANDY STEVENS —Sandy Stevens, Executive <br /> Director Theresa Engelhard with Senior Citizens were present. She distributed information to <br /> the board members. She stated that they help senior citizens stay at home. They served about <br /> 1000 senior citizens Theresa stated they serve about 200 meals a day and prepare and deliver <br /> 90 sack lunches on the weekends. Mr. Arnold noted that the contact with the people is an <br /> important part of this program because they check to make sure that they are ok. The public <br /> transportation is also an important part of their services to the seniors. <br /> Ms. Stevens stated that the membership fee to Midland Area Agency on Aging is $10,880.00 <br /> and that is based on $1.00 per person 60 and over using the 2010 census. They are also <br /> requesting $19,125.00 funding support from Hall County. The total request is $30,005.00. She <br /> also stated that 47% of their funding is from federal funds. <br /> Theresa stated that on they ask for donation for the meals that they provide. <br /> Lancaster made a motion and Lanfear seconded to approve the Midland Area Agency on Aging <br /> budget request. <br /> Lancaster stated that Theresa has been there 7 years and they were concerned if they would be <br /> able to maintain services but it has grown and she has done a good job. <br /> Theresa stated they try to save as much as they can throughout the year and purchase <br /> additional equipment if they have funds left. They are purchasing and ice cream machine so <br /> they will have a soup and salad bar and now ice cream. She also thanked the corrections <br /> department for doing the mowing and snow removal for them. This also helps with their <br /> budgeted expenses. <br /> Ms. Stevens thanked Pam Lancaster, Dan Purdy and Doug Lanfear for serving on the board. <br /> Mr. Lanfear stated he is new to this but is amazed how much they accomplish. Theresa stated <br /> p <br /> that the agreement with the City has helped with the maintenance on the facility. The Senior <br /> Center is an added value to the community. Quandt noted that Bob Sorensen and Jay Vavriek <br /> help to get this agreement in place. <br /> The vote on the motion to approve the Midland Area Agency on Aging budget request was <br /> taken. Arnold, Lancaster, Lanfear, Purdy, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and <br /> none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 8 CONSIDERATION &ACTION ON AN INTERLOCAL COOPERATION AGREEMENT <br /> BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF HALL &THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND FOR AMBULANCE <br /> SERVICE - Lancaster stated that Marlon Fergusson, the City Fire Chief city and county <br /> members that served on the committee met and it is the same agreement with a 9% increase so <br /> 4 <br />
