The board members cast ballots and Stacey Ruzicka and Jack Zitterkopf tallied the ballots. <br /> Dan Purdy received 4 votes. <br /> Pamela Lancaster received 3 votes. <br /> Dan Purdy is the 2015 Hall County Board Vice Chairman. <br /> The Chairman called for a break to adjust the voting tabs. <br /> 9:15 a.m. Held a Board of Equalization meeting <br /> 9:25 a,m. adjourned the Board of Equalization meeting and returned to the regular meeting, <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION —Chairman Arnold called for public participation and Bill Boyer with <br /> Murphy Tractor stated that he is the territory sales manager and wanted to introduce himself to <br /> the County Board and if the board has any question to contact him. He distributed business <br /> cards to the board members. <br /> Chairman Arnold called for any other public participation and no one responded. <br /> 3. RECEIVE AND PLACE ON FILE RESIGNATION OF MARK YOUNG, HALL COUNTY <br /> ATTORNEY - Hall County Attorney Mark Young was appointed as District Judge and Lancaster <br /> said we are losing him as County Attorney but keeping him as a District Judge. <br /> Lancaster made a motion and Quandt seconded to accept the resignation and wish him well. <br /> Arnold, Lancaster, Lanfear, Purdy, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none <br /> voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 4. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING APPOINTMENT OF HALL COUNTY <br /> ATTORNEY - Mr. Quandt stated that Mr. Zitterkopf has done a good job as Chief Deputy <br /> Attorney and the County Attorney is an important position. <br /> Quandt made a motion and Lancaster seconded to appoint Jack Zitterkopf as Hall County <br /> Attorney. Lancaster stated that the board knows him well and have worked with him. It is time <br /> to allow him to move forward. <br /> Mr. Purdy asked Mr. Zitterkopf if he would like take the job. Mr. Zitterkopf stated that it would be <br /> his honor to serve as County Attorney and he will continue to work with the County Board. <br /> Mr. Arnold stated that the board looks good with our county attorney's Jerry ry Ja nul wi cz, M ark <br /> Young and Jack. It is easy for the board. <br /> The vote on the motion to appoint Jack Zitterkopf as County Attorney was taken. Arnold, <br /> Lancaster, Lanfear, Purdy, Quandt, Richardson and Schuppan all voted yes and none voted no. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Mr. Zitterkopf thanked the board and stated that he is flattered to have their support and also <br /> humbled because he is filling large shoes. Mark will be sworn in as District Judge January 23, <br /> 2015 at 4:00 p.m. He stated he will continue to work with the county board and the elected <br /> officials. He will take over the management of the office and stated he hopes the board will <br /> continue to support the rest of his staff. There are 12 other attorneys that have been there a <br /> 4 <br />
