State Statute 39-1811 provides for the control of weeds. <br />Item to be placed on next week's agenda for final action. <br /> <br />Karen Niedfelt and June Andrews representatives from Overland National Bank <br />and Dehn Renter Contryman & Associates, County Treasurer and Deputy County <br />Clerk were present in regard to the direct deposit for county employees pay- <br />roll checks. <br />Representatives of Overland National Bank presented written information <br />and explained the process. Dehn Renter spoke briefly and stated would be <br />same cost for paycheck and stubs ~s for direct deposit forms. No additional <br />charge. <br />Motion by Hartman, seconded by Wright to proceed wit.h the direct deposit <br />for those employees who are interested. On roll call vote Abernethy, Frauen, <br />Ha~tman, Leslie, Quandt, Wright and Landis voted yes, none voted no. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />10:00 A.M. On roll call vote Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, <br />Leslie, Quandt, Wright and Landis voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Discussion on keno issue was discussed. City of Grand Island Mayor Dobesh <br />has appointed a committee to work with a committee from the County Board. <br />Chairperson Landis appointed a committee to~work together with the City on <br />the Keno issue. Landis stated she would not serve on the committee since <br />could be a conflict of interest since she races and raises throughbred horses. <br />She apJ?ointed,committee of Leslie as Chairman, Wright, Hartman, Abernethy and <br />also Deputy County Attorney Janulewicz. <br /> <br />Renewal Application for amusement license for Wood River Recreation Associa- <br />tion, Wood River was presented. <br />Motion by Frauen, seconded by Hartman to approve the renewal of the amuse- <br />ment license for Wood River Recreation Association for one year. On roll call <br />vote Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Leslie, Quandt, Wright and Landis voted yes, <br />none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Dan Hostler, Public Works Director reported the committee recommends accepting <br />the low bid of Nebraska Machinery for $63,000.00, for the elevating scraper. <br />Motion by Hartman, seconded by Frauen to accept the recommendation and <br />accept the low bid of Nebraska Machinery of $63,000.00 for the elevating <br />scraper. On roll call vote Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Leslie, Quandt, <br />Wright and Landis voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Motion by Frauen, seconded by Leslie to recess for Executive Session to <br />discuss negotiation strategy with attorneys for the CWA contract. On roll <br />call vote Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Leslie, Quandt, Wright and Landis voted <br />yes, none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Executive Session at 10:34 A.M. and returned to regular session at 12:07 PM. <br />on motion by Quandt, seconded by Abernethy.
