Mr. Nabity pointed out that this representative must live in rural Hall County and cannot <br /> live in the physical limits of a city or village. One third of the board is up for <br /> reappointment every year. <br /> Mr. Quandt asked if it would be advertised and it is on face book and there will be a <br /> press release. <br /> COMMUNICATIONS — Mr. McFarland distributed a letter to the board members from <br /> Mayor Jay Vavricek regarding the letters to the city to close a portion of Pine Street and <br /> the traffic signal at First Street and Sycamore Street. He stated that once there was a <br /> development plan then the city would move forward. <br /> 16. APPROVE BI WEEKLY PAY CLAIMS AND REGULAR CLAIMS —The board <br /> members received the board preapproval list. Arnold made a motion and Schuppan <br /> seconded to approve the biweekly pay claims and the regular claims except for the <br /> claim from Office Net. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan, and Ziola all <br /> voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> COMMITTEE OR BOARD MEMBER'S REPORTS — Chairman McFarland called for <br /> office reports. <br /> Mr. Schuppan stated that they started the paving on Webb Road and this will be a two <br /> p g <br /> week process. The rain has slowed the process down. <br /> Ms. Lancaster stated that she attended Mid Nebraska Individual Services and there was <br /> an issue involving a group home but that has been resolved. <br /> Mr. Purdy stated the attended the NACO Central District meeting and talked to Buffalo <br /> County. They are also looking at a HR person. He talked to Pam Bourne and she <br /> would assist but there would be a fee. He reminded the board members about the <br /> Nirma Conference October 8, 9 and 10. <br /> Ms. Lancaster stated that they also discussed the state inmate contract and noted that <br /> y <br /> some state senators toured the Hall County jail and noted that the technology is better <br /> than the state and it is a model for others. <br /> BOARD ASSISTANT'S REPORT— Board Assistant Stacey Ruzicka reminded the board <br /> members of the GIAMPO meeting and the retirement for Judge Livingston on Friday. <br /> 22.
