Mr Quandt questioned if there were other detention cells. He was informed that most of the <br /> cells are in the city but there is one more detention cell in this subdivision. <br /> The vote on the motion was taken. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan <br /> and Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> County Assessor Jan Pelland stated that she does not have the authority to waive the previous <br /> taxes. There will be taxes again for the other 2 years so they will have to go through the same <br /> process. <br /> Mr. Zitterkopf stated that he sent a letter to Health and Human Services regarding the claim <br /> from Norfolk Regional Center and explained the circumstances and requested some relief on <br /> the claim but they stated that the county owes the money. He tried but there was no relief. <br /> 16. TELEPHONIC PRESENTATION BY CANNON, MOSS, BRYGGER/DEWBERRY <br /> REGARDING COURTHOUSE PROJECT <br /> 17. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING COURTHOUSE PROJECT <br /> A five minute break was held to set up the equipment. <br /> Brad Kissler with Cannon Moss was present and a phone conference was set with Dewberry. <br /> Floor plans B1 and B3 will be reviewed. Discussion had been held on the construction of new <br /> building at the jail site and Dewberry stated that it would be $21 to $24.2 million to construct a <br /> new building. Discussion was also held concerning issues with the State Historical Society and <br /> they stated if there are no federal funds used the county can do what they choose. There was <br /> also additional discussion on a juvenile court room and space for the additional part-time county <br /> and district court judges. <br /> A telephonic conference was held and the board asked questions. Mr. McFarland sated that <br /> May 20th and June 3'"there will be public informational meetings held at the City Hall <br /> Community Room at 6:00 p.m. <br /> NEW OR UNFINISHED BUSINESS—Chairman McFarland called for new or unfinished <br /> business and no one responded. <br /> Meeting adjourned.
