15. 20 Placed on file the Hall County Treasurer's miscellaneous receipts <br /> 16. 21 Placed on file communications as received <br /> Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none <br /> voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 14 TOURISM PROCLAMATION -- Executive Director Brad Mellema, Mike Swanson the Board <br /> Chair and Paul Nielsen marketing director were present. He gave a brief presentation on the <br /> new web site and a short video. Mr. Mellema read Tourism Proclamation#14-024. <br /> 9:20 a.m. Held a Board of Equalization meeting <br /> 9:25 a. m .Chairman McFarland adjourned the Board of Equalization meeting and returned to <br /> the regular meeting. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION — Chairman McFarland called for public participation and County <br /> Surveyor Casey Sherlock requested to address the board. He read an e mail from Register of <br /> Deeds Mitch Clark regarding the online mapping and an error from 2009. He stated that the <br /> error was made by Mr. Clark and it was corrected in 48 hours by Dan Douglas. He was <br /> offended by the acquisitions and would like to have it investigated. Ms. Lancaster thanked him <br /> for bringing this forward it isn't on the agenda but does warrant investigation. <br /> 7A SET BID OPENING FOR JUNE 3, 2014 AT 10:45 A.M. TO ACCEPT BIDS FOR BUILDING <br /> ADDITION TO WOOD RIVER & CAIRO MAINTENANCE BUILDINGS—Mr. Sherlock stated <br /> that this had been discussed at budget time and David Krolikowski and Steve Riehle have been <br /> heading up this project. He distributed copies and pictures of the buildings. They have <br /> basically outgrown the buildings. Cairo has a small office and they are proposing to add a 16 <br /> foot addition so all of the graders can fit inside. He has list of the specifications for the <br /> contractors. Mr. Riehle estimated that the total would be about $60,000.00 for both with the <br /> Cairo shed at $35,000.00 on the high side. <br /> Mr. Purdy stated that these are busy hubs and he also noted that the state shed was expanded. <br /> Mr. Sherlock stated that Wood River is a little different because they have two buildings one is a <br /> machine storage shed and one is the main building where they have office space, equipment <br /> and tools they need to expand the size of the door and add space for the office outside of the <br /> building. They hope to open the bids on June 3 so it will not be in this fiscal year budget. <br /> Lancaster stated she recalls the discussion at budget time and appreciates the information. <br /> Mr. Schuppan stated they have talked about this and this is to set the bid opening but we are <br /> not obligated to accept the bids. <br /> Schuppan made a motion and Ziola seconded to set the bid opening for June 3, 2014 at 10:45 <br /> a.m. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none <br /> voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 9:30 A.M. Held a Board of Corrections meeting. <br /> 9:53 a.m. Returned to the regular meeting. <br /> BOARD MEMBER'S REPORTS -- Chairman McFarland called for board member's reports - <br /> 2 <br />
