9:05 a.m. Held a Board of Equalization Meeting. <br /> 9:40 a.m. Returned to regular session. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION -- Chairman McFarland called for public participation and no one <br /> responded. <br /> 14. INSURANCE COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION --AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN STOP <br /> LOSS DISCLOSURE FORM - Mr. Purdy stated the insurance committee met with Lee Johnson <br /> and Matt Wullenwaber regarding the renewal. B Berkley Life is the current carrier and they <br /> have offered a renewal. The committee recommended authorizing the Chair to sign the stop <br /> loss disclosure form. If there would be any major claims they would still accept the offer. <br /> Purdy made a motion and Arnold seconded to authorize the chair to sign the stop loss <br /> disclosure form for Berkley Life. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and <br /> Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 16. APPROVE BI WEEKLY PAY CLAIMS AND REGULAR CLAIMS—The board members <br /> reviewed the board preapproval report. Ziola made a motion and Lancaster seconded to <br /> approve the bi weekly pay claims and the regular claims except the claim to Office Net. Arnold, <br /> Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Ziola made a motion and Arnold seconded to approve the claim form Office Net. Arnold, <br /> Lancaster, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and none voted no. Motion <br /> carried. McFarland abstained from the vote because he has a business relationship with Office <br /> Net. <br /> 1 6B) DIS CUSS &APPROVE CLAIM FROM NORFOLK REGIONAL CENTER - Deputy County <br /> Attorney Jack Zitterkopf stated that this claim is for an individual that was sentenced to 19 to 20 <br /> years in prison for sexual assault. When it was time to release the individual the State of <br /> Nebraska determined that he has disabilities and it would not be safe to turn loose in the <br /> general population. The Attorney General contacted them regarding a new state statute and <br /> after the hearing he was ordered to be sent o the Norfolk Regional Center. Normally that is only <br /> for 3 days but in this situation a new attorney had to be appointed and that took some extra <br /> time, so he was there for over 30 days. From the time that the documents are filed to the point <br /> of disposition the fees are the responsibility of the county. If he does not respond to treatment <br /> the county would be responsible for those detention fees every year. Discussion was held and <br /> the board asked Mr. Zitterkopf if he could contact the regional center to see if there would be <br /> any relief. <br /> Mr. Ziola also pointed out that the bill was figured wrong and he would like a response regarding <br /> the charges. <br /> Mr. Zitterkopf stated that it would be alright to wait 2 weeks for an explanation on the costs and <br /> see if there could be some relief. He will send a letter to them. <br /> 22. DISCUSS &APPROVE HALL COUNTY IT DEPARTMENT TO ACCEPT SEALED BIDS <br /> FOR REPLACEMENT VOICEMAIL SYSTEM BID OPENING FOR MAY 6, 2014 AT 10:00 A.M. <br /> Mr. Arnold stated that this is regarding the voice mail server. IT Director Doug Drudik stated <br /> that this was planned for replacement and the dollars have been set aside for the project. It will <br /> 3 <br />
