PROCLAMATION <br /> RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING APRIL 2014 <br /> MONTH OF THE MILITARY CHILD <br /> #14 - � <br /> WHEREAS, the first month of the military child was celebrated in 1986 and established by former <br /> Secretary of Defense Casper Weinberger and; <br /> WHEREAS, thousands of brave Americans have demonstrated their commitment to freedom by <br /> serving in the Armed Forces of the United States of America and; <br /> WHEREAS, today, there are 1.7 million American children and youth under 18 years of age with a <br /> parent serving in the military and; <br /> WHEREAS, there are approximately 900,000 children and youth with one or both parents deployed <br /> multiple times and; <br /> WHEREAS, in our community we have over 200 military children and; <br /> WHEREAS, these children and youth are a source of pride to all of us, and it is only fitting that we <br /> recognize their contributions, and let our men and women in uniform know that while <br /> they are taking care of us, we are taking care of their children and youth and; <br /> WHEREAS, the recognition of April as the Month of the Military Child will allow us to pay tribute to <br /> the military children and youth of Hall County, Nebraska <br /> NOW,THEREFORE, the Hall County Board of Supervisors do hereby proclaim the month of April, 2014 <br /> as the Month of the Military Child. <br /> Resolution moved by a,p_tG <br /> Seconded by F\rr.a lc( <br /> Vote: <br /> Scott Arnold: For c ; Against ; Abstained ; Not Present <br /> Pamela Lancaster: For \/ ; Against ; Abstained ; Not Present <br /> Bob McFarland: For X ; Against ; Abstained ; Not Present <br /> Daniel Purdy For Y Against ; Abstained ; Not Present <br /> Gary Quandt: For \( ; Against ; Abstained ; Not Present <br /> Stephen Schuppan: For �,/ ; Against ; Abstained ; Not Present . <br /> David Ziola: For X ; Against ; Abstained ; Not Present <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 8TH DAY OF APRIL, 2014. <br />
