9:05 a.m. Held a Board of Equalization meeting. <br /> 9:12 a.m. adjourned the Board of Equalization meeting and returned to the regular meeting. <br /> 9. MIKE OLSON, HALL COUNTY AIRPORT AUTHORITY STATE OF THE AIRPORT <br /> ADDRESS - Executive Director Mike Olson and Joe Cook with the Hall County Airport Authority <br /> Board were present. For 2013 they had 59,902 boardings at the airport. It wasn't as many as <br /> some previous years, but as the air service expands the boardings will also go up. He is <br /> fortunate that the Airport Authority board has given him the resources to encourage other <br /> airlines. In the month of December they had 6,400 boardings. He reviewed some of the current <br /> projects. <br /> • They are adding 640 new parking stalls with the new terminal they will lose 150 old stalls <br /> • They are working on the 5 unit aircraft hanger and have 4 of the 5 unites rented out <br /> • They are replacing some of the old parking with new concrete <br /> • They recently met with American airlines and they are excited about the international <br /> travel <br /> • Allegiant to Las Vegas and Phoenix added 8 additional flights in December <br /> • They have served a quarter of a million passengers in 5 years <br /> • They are very excited about the new passenger terminal and he showed drawings of the <br /> proposed facility <br /> • They will move Aero Smith Park to the front of the terminal <br /> • There will be a new fixed base operator terminal <br /> • The new Army National Guard facility is just about finished <br /> • In three years they will invest $27 million in capital improvements and this will add 318 <br /> jobs and a potential of$38 million in economic output <br /> • He noted the awards that the airport has received and noted these awards are important <br /> to the staff <br /> • He provided information regarding the economic impact for 2003 and 2013 <br /> Mr. Olsen thanked the County Board for their support. <br /> Ms. Lancaster thanked Mr. Olson for supporting the veterans and helping with the Hero Flights <br /> and stated that he also served on the Convention Visitors Bureau board. <br /> PUBLIC PARTICIPATION —Chairman McFarland called for public participation and no one <br /> responded. . <br /> 4. COUNTY ATTORNEY - EXECUTIVE SESSION REAL ESTATE PURCHASE -- Lancaster <br /> made a motion and Ziola seconded to go into executive session regarding real estate purchase. <br /> This executive session is to protect the public interest. Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, <br /> Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and no one voted no. Motion carried. <br /> 9:40 a.m. executive session <br /> 10:23 a.m. Quandt made a motion and Lancaster seconded to go out of executive session. <br /> Arnold, Lancaster, McFarland, Purdy, Quandt, Schuppan and Ziola all voted yes and no one <br /> voted no.
