<br />Range 9 West, Hall County.

<br />2. Letter from Mark D. Nelson, 3124 Golde~rod Drive, Grand Island, in regard
<br />to letters he sent to Vantage Cable~sso~~ates who serve some of the out-
<br />lying areas of Grand Island. --

<br />Motion by Frauen, seconded by Abernethy to place on file the communications
<br />received today. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and
<br />Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried.

<br />Discussion with Deputy Attorney Janulewicz in regard to opinion received
<br />from Attorney Vincent Valentino on the Court Appointed Attorney fees.
<br />Board members finally agreed to wait until February when the six month with
<br />Madison Public Defender office agreement will have been in force and see if
<br />the attorney fees decrease.

<br />COMMITTEE REPORTS:
<br />
<br />Chairman Quandt reported on Weed Control Authority Board meeting he attended
<br />and brought for discussion the bill from Weed Department for $14,010.34 to
<br />the Road department with Dan only wanting to pay for chemicals. Discussed
<br />was the letter from Deputy Attorney in regard to meeting held in July 1993
<br />with Bill Bean, Dan Hostler, Charles Kaufman, Bob Schwartzkopf, Rich Stepanek
<br />and Deputy attorney to discuss inter fund uses of equipment, supplies and
<br />labor and the recommendation made at that time.
<br />Motion by Stelk, seconded by Landis for Dan at Road Department to pay
<br />the full bill $14,010.34 for the weed department spraying roadsides.
<br />Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none
<br />voted no. Motion carried.
<br />
<br />Hartman reported on Mid Nebraska meeting held last week.
<br />
<br />Abernethy attended the College Park Board meeting, two Audit Committee meet-
<br />ings and also the Regional III Advisory meeting.
<br />
<br />Leslie attended Audit Committee meetings, ConAgra tour in Omaha and there
<br />will be visit with Foster Parents meeting Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m.
<br />
<br />County Board Assistant Ellen Merrill gave weekly update with reiminders of
<br />meetings, also gave update report on Clerk of District Court Office and she
<br />was serving as temporary Deputy for Clerk of District Court.

<br />County Clerk presented the official board~~~~a~ Pat Kelley, Clerk of
<br />District Court.
<br />Motion by Frauen, seconded by Hartman to approve
<br />for Mary Pat Kelley, as Clerk of District Court.
<br />Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes,
<br />carried.
