<br />Discussion and Supervisor Abernethy felt needed to rescind action of last
<br />week and to open bid received from Gary Smith.

<br />Motioh by Abernethy seconded by Stelk to reconsider the vote to accept
<br />bid from last week.' Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk
<br />voted yes, Frauen voted no. Motion carried.

<br />Motion by Abernethy, seconded by Stelk to rescind action of last week to
<br />accept JIL Asphalt bid~ thinking it was the only one received, and open
<br />the other bid from Gary Smith today and reconsider the bid letting. ,Aber-
<br />nethy, Hartman, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, Frauen and Land1s voted
<br />no. Motion carried.

<br />Bid from Gary Smith Construction Co Inc, Loup City, Nebraska was opened
<br />and read. Total bid for project $16,555.00
<br />
<br />Last week's bid from JIL Asphalt, Grand Island was for $16,717.55
<br />
<br />Motion by Landis, seconded by Stelk to accept Gary Smith Construction Co
<br />bid and refer both bids to Public Works Committee, Public Works Director
<br />and the County Board Weed Board representative for tabulation and recommend-
<br />ation. On roll call vote Abernethy, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted
<br />yes, Frauen and Hartman voted no. Motion carried.

<br />Public Works Committee recommends accepted JIL Asphalt bid for weed building
<br />parking lot.
<br />Motion by Hartman, seconded by Frauen to accept JIL Asphalt bid for
<br />Weed Building parking lot for $16,717.55 Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman,
<br />Landis, Leslie and Stelk voted yes, Quandt voted no. Motion carried.

<br />Dan Hostler, Public Works Director presented the Highway Department quart-
<br />erly report for July 1, 1993 to October 1, 1993. Report was reviewed and
<br />discussed. Also discussed was the possibility of schooling for motor
<br />grader operators from the highway department. Hostler stated the County
<br />Board has to request and recommend to the T_Sq\1are_Advisory Committee for
<br />a motor grader schooling. Letter is to bedrafte~ for chairman signature.
<br />Motion by Frauen, seconded by Abernethy~ accept and place on file
<br />the Highway Department quarterly report. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis,
<br />Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried.

<br />Letter and contract for Project NO. STPE-2l50(4) Cairo Southeast was pre-
<br />sented for consideration.
<br />Hostler, Public Works Director stated the letter explained the solution
<br />for funding for this project and recommended signing the contract.
<br />
<br />Motion by Frauen, seconded by Landis to approve and authorize Chairman to
<br />sign the contract for project STPE-2l5014) Cairo Southeast as presented.
