<br />to look_at 1 year, 5 year and 10 year plans. Will add line to survey form

<br />ant to send out the survey form. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Leslie, Quandt
<br />and Stelk votd yes, Landis voted no. Motion carried.

<br />COMMUNICATIONS:

<br />1. County Clerk reported the Omaha World Herald had called stating costs for
<br />running_the ad for tuckpointing of courthouse for 3 times would be $225.00
<br />Discussion followed and board members agreed to have clerk call and can-
<br />cell the ad for the last 2 weeks.
<br />
<br />2. Letter from State of Nebraska Department Roads the project has been
<br />approved by Transportation Enhancement Selection Committee and the
<br />Department of Roads:__to proyide 80 percent of total project costs
<br />up to $13,488.00 for. the }replacemeht--- of trees on public sector lands
<br />due to storm damage during the summer of 1993.
<br />
<br />3. Notice of Annual Meeting of the Nebraska Tax Research Council, Inc
<br />to be held Friday, November 19, 1993 at 9:00 a.m. at Cornhusker Hotel
<br />Lincoln, Nebraska. Reservations are $30.00 each no later than November
<br />10, 1993

<br />4. Letter for State Department of Environmental Quality with update on
<br />efforts to comply with Integrated Sblid Waste Management Act.

<br />5. State Department of Roads with three changes made in the emergency relief
<br />agreement form in regard to Proj~ct~_1'l-p_.__F,:R,:,2265 (1) Grand Island North (Hall
<br />County, changing funding 80% :federal funds and 20% county funds instead
<br />of 75% and 25%"and to change 90 days to 180 days._
<br />Motion by Abernethy, seconded by Leslie to authorize/ch~i~ma~ to initial the
<br />changes on agreement for Project ER-2265(1) as requested. Abernethy, Frauen,
<br />Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion
<br />carried.

<br />COMMITTEE REPORTS:
<br />
<br />Abernethy reported Building & Grounds Committee meeting, they decided on the
<br />color of paint for walls in Administration Building offices. She attended
<br />the Industrial Foundation Meeting last Thllrf)g.ay and also attended; --meeting
<br />on Saturday in Lincoln on Legislation to ~ffect families, women &lCnlldren.
<br />
<br />Leslie reported he attended Meetings at Mid Plains Center and Children's
<br />Village.
<br />
<br />Landis reported on Audit Committee meeting held last week and will meet again
<br />this afternoon. Personnel Committee met, needed guidelines from board
<br />members in regard to changes on evaluation form for appointed department heads.
<br />Will put discussion on next week's board meeting agenda.
<br />
<br />Senator Janis McKenzie, District No. 34 was present for informal meeting with
<br />board members. Discussion on concerns of board members in legislative
<br />sessions and asked for Senator McKenzie views on their concerns. One hour
<br />was spent on these discussions.

<br />COMMITTEE REPORTS:
<br />
<br />Stelk attended Midland Area Agency on Aging meeting last week, Public Works
<br />Committee meeting this morning. Discussion on building inspector need for
<br />.new vehicle and recommended placing for bids on October 26th.
<br />
<br />Don Shuda, Veterans Service Officer reported trade in for old copy machine
<br />from Eakes was $200.00.
<br />Motion by Hartman, secodned by Frauen to keep the old copier and add the
<br />$200.00 to cost of new machine. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Quandt
