University of Nebraska notice of Road and Construction Workshop: Using <br />Self Cementing Fly Ash to Stabilize Soil and Recycle Payment workshop on <br />June 16th in North Platte and. June 17th in Omaha had been postponed. Plan <br />~to reschedule workshops for early August. <br /> <br />3. Notice from Ed Edwards, GI-Ha11 County Department of Health that Charles <br />Wilson will be Acting Director of Health during Edwards absence from the <br />office June 16, 17 & 18, 1993 <br /> <br />4. Thank you from Bill Bean for recent appointment as Hall County Weed & <br />Predator Control Superintendent. <br /> <br />5. Invitation from Pat and Dick Hartman for "round-up" for friends on July <br />3rd at 5:00 p.m. at Isaak Walton League Park to celebrate the marriage <br />of Christy and Dan Hartman. <br /> <br />6. Letter from NACO Director Jack Mills in regard to personal property tax <br />refunds, copy of sample resolution and request for $200.00 contribution <br />to join with other counties in retaining counsel in attempt to reverse <br />decision of State Board of Equalization. <br />Motion by Leslie, seconded by Hartman to approve request and participate <br />with payment of claim of $200.00 and to adopt Resolution #1497 as prepared. <br />Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted <br />no, with Landis absent. Motion carried. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION#/~f'7'.. .. <br /> <br />WJIEREAS, HALL <br /> <br />County Board represents all taxpayers of <br /> <br />HALL <br /> <br />County; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Nebraska Supreme Court in MAPCO I and IT has clearly indicated that the <br />refunds ordered by the State Board of Equalization are highly questionable; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, any amount of refunds ordered by the court and paid by the county are an additional <br />burden on the remaining. taxpayers of Oilf county; <br /> <br />THEREFORE, the HALL County Board hereby joins with other Nebraska counties <br />across the state to jointly pursue a legal resolution of the disputed refunds and <br />hereby contributes . 200 .
