State of Nebraska Department of Roads request for Floodplain Permit for <br />Project No. F-30-4(135) Wood River to Grand Island, hydrology and hydraulics <br />report and preliminary data sheet describing the proposed construction. <br /> <br />Motion by Hartman, seconded by Frauen to place on file the communications <br />received today and refer University of Nebraska and State Department of Roads <br />communications to Public Works Director. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, <br />Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br /> <br />Hartman reported on Mid Nebraska Retardation Meeting. <br /> <br />Frauen reported the report the Clean Community Systems funding was placed in <br />Health Department budget and would county share cost, had been checked out <br />and is not included in the Health Department budget. It is strictly a City <br />funding. <br /> <br />Abernethy reported she attended Head Start Board meeting and Monica McClure <br />has been selected to attend a Johnson & Johnson workshop at UCLApampus] and <br />Abernethy has also been selected to attend. She will be absent from~l1e <br />June 29th board meeting. <br />Abernethy reported she attended the Education 2000 event at College Park: <br />spoke at Wasmer School, attended the Tourism breakfast for rest stop employees <br />and the Retirement reception for Jean Drawbaugh at the Weed Department. <br /> <br />Leslie attended the Mid Plains Center meeting and will be checking out the <br />Children's Village funding by Department of Social Services. <br /> <br />Stelk reported on Industrial Foundation meeting. <br /> <br />Ellen Merrill, County Board Assistant reported (1) Criminal Justice Committee <br />meeting scheduled for Monday June 7, at 8:00 a.m. (2) Has received the <br />Industrial Hygienist report and Building & Grounds Committee needs to meet to <br />make recomm~ng~tions to the full board (3) UNL Architect will be reviewing the <br />courthouse !~ou~naai on Wednesday, May 26th in the morning and Building & Grounds <br />Committee to\IJUiaeca.t 2:15 p.m. Wednesday May 26th. (4) reminder of interviews <br />for Weed Control Superintendent position will be held Wednesday and Thursday <br />May 26 & 27th at 7:30 p.m. in County Board Room. (5) Criminal Justice committee <br />to meet with the Indigent Task Force at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday May 26th: <br />Contract Review committee to meet at 1:30 Thursday May 27th with Social Service <br />Department: Invitation to lunch on Tuesday June 15th with Housing Authority <br />for annual review. (6) request from Larry Dix for letter of authorization <br />to order equipment for computer program for County Treasurer's office. <br />(7) Gina Baker, Boys Town Director requested letter of support from County <br />Board for their request for Family program grant (approved letter be drafted <br />and sent) <br /> <br />Motion by Abernethy, seconded by Leslie to authorize :ch-afrman to sign letter <br />to Larry Dix, NACO,to authorize him ordering the computer program equipment <br />for County Treasurer's office. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, <br />Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Landis questioned the Sheriff's Department budget balance in last quarterly <br />report received. County Clerk will check out to see where error was made. <br /> <br />Jerry Ryan, Midland Area Agency on Aging, __LoisSteinike, Senior Citizens <br />Center and Izola Sargent Director of Handibiis--Program were present. <br />Ryan presented the budget request for 1993-1994 for Midland Area Agency on <br />Aging for $23,178.00 which is same request as last year. <br />Sargent reported the Handibus budget had been approved at $28,542.00 for <br />operating for 1993-1994. Also questioned the amount County Board had budgeted <br />for new handibus that is to arrive later this summer, with county's share of <br />$12,150.00 <br />Motion by Landis, seconded by Stelk to authorize releasing the funds for <br />the new handibus $12,150.00 as budgeted to Senior Citizens. Abernethy, Frauen, <br />Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />Quandt questioned the shortage of cab tickets each year and if Mental Retarda- <br />tion could request and pay for part of the tickets. This will be checked out. <br /> <br />County Clerk presented letter from NACO Insurance Committee in regard to the <br />renewal rates for 1993 for NACO Group 3100 subgroups for Blue Cross Blue <br />Shield coverage, showing 4.56 percent increase as of July 1, 1993. <br /> <br />Supervisor Stelk reported the Cairo and Doniphan Senior Centers asked County <br />Board members to have lunch with them sometime the same as they do at the <br />Grand Island Center. <br />
