<br />Recommendations for appointments to the Local Emergency Planning
<br />Committee were read. Stelk made motion, seconded by Landis to accept
<br />the recommendations with the exception of Richard Mohrman, as he has
<br />moved out of Hall County. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Leslie,
<br />Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Others names on the list
<br />were - Donna Titman, Tracy Overstreet, Jim Rowell and Irene Abernethy
<br />as alternate elected official.

<br />Quandt made motion, seconded by Frauen to recommend James Fosket in the
<br />place of Richard Mohrman to replace Emmett Arnett. Abernethy, Frauen,
<br />Hartman, LandiS, Leslie, 'Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no.
<br />Landis wiil report this to the LEPC meeting on Monday.

<br />Leslie was ask if he would run again to serve on the. NIRMA Board; he
<br />said yes. Motion made by'Stelk, seconded by Frauen to recommend his
<br />name 'for re-election. Abernethy, Frauen, Hartman, Landis, Quandt and
<br />Stelk voted yes.
<br />
<br />Ed Edwards, Health Director, reported that a search committe within
<br />the Board of Health would be involved with the replacement for a new
<br />director upon his retirement. He plans for his last day as director to
<br />be January IS, 1995.
<br />
<br />Nelson Helm, Regional Planning, asked that the Board approve the final
<br />plats for Rainbow Lake 3rd Subdivision, Game Bird Subdivision, Cook
<br />Subdivision, Ewoldt Farms Subdivision, Wilhelmi Subdivision and Greenwood
<br />Subdivision. Motion made by Quandt, seconded by Stelk to approve all
<br />of the plats and authorize the Chiarman to sign. Abernethy, Frauen,
<br />Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no.
<br />
<br />Ellen Merrill, Board Assistant, asked if one of the Board members' had
<br />made a phone call to someone with a mobile phone in Holdrege. Also
<br />as~ed if they would clear their desks off after the meeting as the
<br />Election workers would be using the room tonight for election returns.
<br />She reported that the City Clerk call to report that the Fire Inspector
<br />reported he has conducted the inspection of Shannon Pub and the Platt-
<br />Duetsche and both are::..fine for.keno sites.

<br />Mary Kay Shay, Election Commissioner, explained that the amendments
<br />would be on the ballot even though the Supreme Courts ruling, the ballots
<br />had already been printed and absentee ballots had already been sent out, and
<br />the board for counting votes were already in place and without the expense
<br />of a new board thereis nothing can be done. The precinct workers have
<br />been told to inform the voters not to vote on the amendments 1,2,3,4 & 5.
<br />They have to be counted but the totals will not be tallied and given out.
<br />This was a directive of the Secretary of States office. She explained how
<br />the voting machine will operate concerning the write-in votes.
