JanulewJ.cz, Deputy Hall County Attorney Bids were opened from Gary Smith, Loup City with a total of $321,845. and JIL Asphalt, Grand Island with a total of'$292,298 and referred to Dan Hostler, Public Works Director, by motion of Landis, seconded by Quandt. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie" Quandt and Stelk voted yes~ none voted no. Dan Hostler, Public Works, explained the need of stop signs at Gunbarrel Rd & Bismark making it a 4-way intersection and Sky Park Road & 1R Road. He had ordinances for both and they were put on next weeks agenda. Hostler also had an agreement with the State for snow removal on service road along north Hwy 281. This too was put on agenda for next week. Hostler reported of a call concerning tree branches east of the Children's Village building a lot between 9th & 10th Streets. Was suggested that he talk to the Housing Authority. He and the Chairman will check out and handle this matter. Motion made by Quandt, seconded by Abernethy to accept and place on file the petition requesting the county pave W Wood River Road from Hwy 281 to the AIda Spur, do to the increased truck and car traffic. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. Hostler reported that the asphalt bids were checked and both were ok and recommended the JIL Asphalt bid. Motion made by Landis, seconded by Quandt to accept the bid of JIL Asphalt. Abernethy, Hartman, Landis, Leslie, Quandt and Stelk voted yes, none voted no. The Board received a letter from Shirley Anderson a couple of weeks ago and Hostler was asked to check into the intersection of Bismark and Shady Bend Rd which was her concern. She requested the installation of flashing 'red lights instead of stop signs.
